I just recently got DSL installed and was very excited about playing UT with a good ping. Well, UT has been nothing but a headache ever since I got DSL. Basically what happens is when I go to list of servers, it shows all the servers there and it looks normal. I join ANY server and it goes into the game and seems to work for 1-2 seconds, then the red connection icon pops up on the screen and not only have I lost connectivity to the server, but have lost it copletely to the internet. If i disconnect and reconnect, I still have no internet connectivity. The only thing I can do is reboot the computer. My specs are Athlon 1.3gig, 512mr, UT 4.36, geforce 2mx, win98. I am running UT on opengl. Everything worked fine under dialup, but now with DSL, i can't get it to work. I have got it working 2 times actually. It seems if I run in software mode (terrible) it will work. One time I was in D3D and it worked aslo. But for some reason that time I was running D3D, UT was running very slow at only 25fps. When I reinstalled Ut, my FPS was normal again at about 50-60fps and it will not work any server. I tried hosting a server, and people can join my server and it works fine, but I can't join any. I have reinstalled UT, that didnt fix it. It almost seems like if my FPS is really slow, it will work. Any ideas on this. I have reinstalled ut as I said, i updated my video card drivers to the newest from nvidia's site. Is there a way to limit the FPS in UT? Im thinking if I limit the fps to maybe 30-40fps it might work. Any help is appreciated.
