Now that CDV has lost the license, let's talk about a future version of it!
First I like to see a heavily modified Walker engine. We have seen the graphics in space(Haeg) and land(Platoon). We could add abit more physics to the ships. And it should take place right after the events of the first IG!
Opinions?

Hi there! I'm fresh new to the forum. As you can see I'm Hungarian, so I have some fresh news from Hungary. I don't know about the Walker Engine besides that it rulez :D , but it's not Digital Reality wo was meant to make the game, so I guess it won't be in it. Philos Labs is not dead by the way. They just had a really bad year last year. 2/3 of the company left, 1/3 to Mithis games, but as far as I know, they are still making IG3 (lthough there are some other information on the CDV IG3 website) I guess with Mithis' help. They are also still making Escape from Alcatraz, even if there hasn't been an update to the site since I don't know, 2002 Feb, or something, but IG3 is COMING!!!! It will rule!!!!! The demo ruled!!!!!!!!! The game will be even better!!!!!!! :up: :up: :up: :up: :up: (I guess :D )

Did you know that CDV's IG3 has changed it's title to Galaxy Andromeda?! Meaning there's no IG3 in developement!

I didn't know that! Never heard about it. When did that happen, cause I rad this interview last week? Man, I misiing out on things.

Well it went like this, Inforgrames allowed CDV to use the IG license provided they release the game by 31st December 2002. But the they didn't.
So once the game was delayed to Summer 2003, the license automaticlly goes back to Infogrames. In other words, the game that was supposed to use the IG3 title couldn't get a 2002 release date, and they decided to change the name to Galaxy Andromeda.
If you want more info look here:
The Forum (http://www.cdv-board.de/english/showthread.php?s=&threadid=8742)
Say do you post on the Official Hungarian Haegemonia forums?!

Yes I do, if we call 3 or 4 posts posting.

Don't forget that the game formerly known as IG3 was already under development under a different name (Galaxy Andromeda???) before CDV bought the IG3 name.
It only happened like last week (maybe 2 by now, bah! time flies :( )

That's right, now CDV doesn't have to pay royalty to Infogrames!

So this means we should stop talking about GA and talk about IG3 since this is an Infogrames site and not a CDV site. let the GA'ers talk about GA in the CDV forums :D :up:

That was the intent of Karthiks original post.
I'm all for a proper IG3 sequel :)
Things I want to see:
DirectX graphics
colony view with at least partial simcity style building placement
multi planet systems
multiple colonies/cities per planet
colonisable moons & asteroids
taskforce based ship & 'ground' battles (a-la Total War) as in, player controls a taskforce as a whole (including 'move there', 'agressive stance' & 'hold this location' but AI runs each indivitual ship/vehicle within the taskforce
really good ship & building design (on a par with GA & Homeworld2)
customisable ship/vehicle loadout
believable release dates :haha: :haha: :haha:
unit/battle statistics stored in ascii format for perusal out of game
a really good manual = long & detailed (even if it has to be a .pdf on the disk)
space physics (inertia, acceleration, 3 axes of both rotation and translation + autopilots capable of dealing with it + correct thruster firing)
supply similar to Conquest:Frontier Wars
</dream>

The mother of all features:
-tutoriols.
The storyline should take place after IG1! Not some spinoff like in Ig2!

Yes!!!!!! Bring it on. Let's show Infogrames that Imperium Galactica is as big as MOO or Homeworld. :cool:

If they do that list then it will be :)
* decent AI
* easily but deeply modable

Digital Reality should put in more effort on the multiplayer section, cause alot of gamers get syncronization errors. One person to handle the network code is not enough. They should get help from free lancing workers on the network part.
Ok the major part, storyline. I'm sure that on paper it sounds original, but please get a professional script writer who can go through the first draft and give the story an edge. Get actors who have a good repo in making voice-overs in animated series. Mark Hammil, Malcom McDowell, Tom Wilson, Chirstopher Walken or others out there. Please don't give to people who have very blunt voice works.
Those people I mentioned up there don't even ask alot of money, in fact they are all b-movie actors now. Listen to your fans. Don't rush out your games within 2 years. At leaset spend 3 years on the project which is IG3.

You know, I would be perfectly satisfied with Imperium Galactica I redone for uptodate computers. Leaving space combat in 2D is fine for me, that game I liked so much, but as DR is unlikely to make it wok on today's computers I would gladly see it back as a new game.

I see Imperium Galactica as a cult game! Meaning it has a small following of hardcore fans! I agree with the 2D part, but publishers are not willing to take the risk!

But 2d is such an effort.
All those still frames you have to do...
I don't mind 2d combat with 3d ships though :)
Startrek:Armada did that very well.
Especially with the 'directors cut' giving some 3d movement too :)

Moving post up. Ok I'd like to see fighters more useful this time. They were useful in IG1 but in IG2 they barely had any use....even in Haeg they were quite useless against the big boys.
Graphics, like I said this is one area you use to gain new fans. Use it to your advantage. With Walker 2 on the horizon, I bet this is one section IG3 will benefit most.
IP(intelectual propeties). I'm sure IG license isn't that expensive. DR should buy it from ATARI since they rather focus on MOO!

Fresh News about Haegemonia:
Both English and Hungarian versions are ready and out in stores from the 25th-30th this month. (This was the good news) :up:
(The bad news is) it is going to be a Haegemonia Tournament 2003, no single player, only a couple of mission maps and tons of multiplayer. :cry: :down:

Yep, the Solon Heritage is out this November, that's for sure now, or at least 99%. It's an only multiplayer expansion with maps that can be played as single player. DR on the other hand is planning to publish a single player expansion, or a sequel if you like for Haegemonia sometime, so they didn't want to pulish the mission editor just now with TSH. I'm pretty sure there won't be a mission editor on TSH, and if there isn't -> there's gonna be a single player expansion. :D :up: :D :up: :D :up: :D

You know what I meant was that there won't be a solo campaign mode only maps that can be played multiplayer and of course in singleplayer mode, but that's not really a single player expansion. It's like playing SIMS online alone. :cry: :D
