I haven't been to SFWoA since, well, since before they became a Six Flags park. I went to Geauga Lake one time when I was to short to ride any of the rides. Now that it's a Six Flags park with some cool rides, I might try to go sometime. Assuming I have enough money and time to go there and Cedar Point. God knows, I can't go to Ohio without going to Cedar Point.

What there is more to Ohio then a little bit of I-75,280 and route 2 to 6 to the causeway? ;)

Batman Knight Flight looks awesome, haven't been there since it was geauga lake, and sea world. but i would have to say B:KF is sweet i have been on enough coasters to know a good ride when i see one.

The Villian is a great wooden coaster! My husband & I can't do all the flips & inversions, so we have to stick to the basic up & down coasters. I have a soft spot in my heart for the two other wooden coasters as well. The Raging Wolf Bobs was my daughter's first coaster, & last coaster for a number of years, too!:D I have a great pic of her on it, terrified beyond sanity! Also, the Big Dipper is a classic, the front seat is the best for major air time. The Big Dipper was my first real coaster, too!

Superman is a great ride as well, although I still can't get the hubby to ride it! (Chicken!!) But my daughter will go on it now, so I have a ride buddy! :D

My family has been going to Geauga Lake (now SFWOA) for a long time, so I will always have a fondness in my heart for that park!

A few years ago i was lucky enough to go to SFWoA--it was a little dirty but it had some good rides. I thought Superman: The Ultimate Escape was really fun but that was before CP got Wicked Twister and I find Wicked Twister to be much more fun. Batman: Knight Flight was also a really fun and smooth ride. I thought it was amazing how the floor dropped from underneath me--lol. It was really fun then but i wish i would have waited a year and i would have gotten to ride X-Flight i hear thats the best flying coaster Vekoma ever made--i've never ridden a flying coaster--hopefully CP will either get a B&M flyer or a B&M floorless next!

I went earlier this week. It's a good park with lots to do from the shows to the rides and water park. Everything was basically a walk on exept X-Flight and S. Thriller. The only reason those weren't walk ons is because they only had one train going. The people (employees) could be more friendly and faster moving. That would have made it a lot better. The food stands were closed or Extremely slow moving. They brought out fresh french fries and my wife said at least the fries are fresh and my reply was simple. They won't be when we get them. I have no problem if they are busy but there was one couple ahead of us and all they ordered was burgers. (same as us) Those were done sitting in their water boiler type thing. And it still took 10 minutes for the person to put the burger on the bun grab some fries and give them to the customer. It was crazy. That is the same type of experience we had the first time. This was our second time going. I found about three problems. Employees were slow and not friendly. The two coasters were running with one train making those to lines longer than needed. (and Texas Twister and some other flats were not running). The kiddie rides end early and our kids were really upset. everything else that was open was for 48 or taller. We have a three yr old and my six yr old is 47 1/2 inches tall. The show times were kinda goofy. They don't make them so people can go around the whole park in one day. Some shows overlap or there is a lot of time in between. Not enough to go back to the ride side but too much to keep your attention on other things. We have a season pass because we want to go a couple times and also to SF Darrien lake in NY. Overall it was a good day but nothing compared to the Point. One more thing I noticed that made us made. Lockers for the water area are TEN DOLLARS! That's rip off! The entry fee may be cheeper than Cedar Point but Everything else was more expensive. We probably would spend more at six flags than cedar point if we were regular people going to a park buying food there. The food is ok at SF. but nothing special.

Wow Serial Thriller Had a line. Its usually a walk-on.The Reason The Texas Twister wasnt open was because it was being reprogrammed. It should open in July.:p

My best guess would be get on I-90/I-80 and stay on that till you get to where it separates. Stay on I-80. Go until rt 14 my map shows exit 187. head south about 2 miles and get on 306 north. Go north to rt 43 roughly 5 miles. Go West on 43 and you will run into the park. Many signs on 43.

im going to woa on thursday the 24th. i work at sfog and i know it is possible to ride pretty much everything on a thursday. is it the same for woa? if not what is recomended? this will be like my only opportunity to go for a while (and my first time) so im just trying to make the best of it! id appreciate some advice. thanks!

p.s. i know we have let other sf employees at the front of our lines if they showed us their id card. does anyone know anyone that works there? will they treat us equally? or were they just taking advantage of our southern hospitality;)

i went to waste of an afternoon last driday, it was.....was......just yucky! Raging Wolf Bobs made meanstreak seem smooth and so did villian, Big Dipper was awesome so was batman and X-Flight, Great Parking Lot coaster!:D Superman was alright, the LIM brake was different, but i would take WT anyday. I just can't wait to go back when it is sunny out, so i can go to the waterpark! all in all it is an ok park with some good coasters, i can't wait till i go to chicago in the next few months....I got a season pass, yay! i look thrilled in my photo! i will post it in a few days. I can't wait to ride Batman and X-Flight again, they are worth the three hour drive from my house., of course it is better when on your way home you take the 250 up to that other park, lol. I really don't have much to complain about this park since i was there no more then 3 hours and had ridden all the coaster except for 2 one was the junior and the boomerang cause the bommerang was closed, but they need to do some yard work! $150 will buy you a good lawn mower at Home Depot! lol. I am not gonna pass a judgement on this park, until i have seen it in full swing with a lot of people there. It was cloudy and looked like it was gonna rain when we were there. also park maps are hard to find if you miss them at the gate, i asked 5 gift shops if they had one before i finally found one. it was a good 3 hour trip all in all.

I went to WOA last Friday, and I have to say I was disappointed. The employees in the season pass center were not friendly at all, then once we were in the park I noticed that the landscaping or ground maintainence was nonexistent, the bathrooms were already dirty (even though it was just a few minutes after the park opened and there was hardly anyone there!) and there didn't seem to be enough workers so the rides took a long time to load and unload- very inefficent. But I think the worst part was when we rode Superman the second time: the ride op didn't check my restraints at all. She lightly touched the seatbelt as she walked by, but no tugging on the belt or the harness to make sure they were secure. And that's obviously one ride where they HAVE TO BE secure. Overall, I was pretty disppointed and I'm not sure if I'm happy I have a season pass or not. I suppose we'll go back for the waterpark since admissions is included for that, and if we go to other SF parks this season, it will be worth it. Over all though, I guess I've been kind of spoiled by the all-around goodness of Cedar Point.

My thoughts exactly! The rides aren't bad but when I am at work I complain about the staff slowness, the not so good food at a couple or the food joints, only running one train maybe two on the main rides, rides lines move pretty slowly, the parking lot is nasty, friendliness has gone out the window. It's amazing. Cedar Point spoiled me toward other parks.

Okay i live in cleveland, so i go to Cedar point every year, and maybe every other year i will also take a trip to SFWoA, This Year i went for physics day so i cant really comment on how the park deals with a large crowed but i can say this, X flight's line took an hour and the only ppl there were schools, they only had 1 train running and it took forever for the trains to load, the parks landscape was non existant except for the lake in the middle, the villian injured me (i got a huge bruise on my arm because the thing tossed me around like a police dog with a ragdoll) but it was a good ride and so was x-flight, BKF was awesome!! line didnt take to long, staff was efficient and checked all saftey harnessed and seemed to be enjoying their job and the ide wa smooth as can be, the mind eraserwas dangerous because of the ride attendant stood 2 inches away from the track as we shot forward trough the station, the superman was perfect ony they didnt check my restraint and i hurt my nuts getting off the ride , serial thriller was run properly but i didnt like the ride it was boring and you cant evn tell whats happening it also throws you around, but i do say after all of this the visit was pleasent because all the rides were fun except for serial thriller.

Don't complain about WOA it is actually well taken care of.......in comparision to SF Astroworld. There Park is utterly discusting and hasn't gotton a major coaster since the 1989 season. Love your park. Don't get stuck at a nasty one like SFA like me.

I've heard local laws and ordinances prevent SFWOA from building any rides over 200 feet tall, so that would mean no hypercoasters, at least not until the laws get changed...:weird:

Correction.... why could they not build a rollercoaster 185 ft tall, and drop it 15 ft (or more) in the ground? It would still be a hypercoaster and it would still work.....:D

sfog has a height restriction of 200 ft also, cause of the airport across the street

TTJ your not missing much they only have 4 good rides IMO, Batman the best there, X-Flight, Big Dipper, and Superman Ultimate escape.

Well we got there and went straight to batman, My mom former chicken of coasters, was scarred, she hadn't been on any coaster since '97, so batman was the way to get her used to drpping again, when we got off that ride we got right back inline, we got on X-Flight and Superman, and took in a Not Shamu Shamu show. All in all it was a good day, the old man that shouldn't have rode coasters, did get on batman, that was probably the scarriest ride i had all day.(dad suffers from heart conditions, yeah i know he shouldn't have been there, but he lived lol) I am going to be back there sometime either this year or deff. next season when i renew my season pass.

On ride photos coming when my scanner works.

yeah i know what they got and all, its pretty pathetic, i love X-Flight and Batman though, those are really the only 2 rides i go for, i havent been there since X-Flight came out. Til today when i went .. i missed the feel of X-Flight.... forgot what it was like, i love it! I was ranting and raving to my friends in line how great of a ride it is, and in the back of my head i was like "god i hope it was good... i cant remember!!" lol

Yeah X-Flight would be worth the drive if Batman Knife Fight wasn't there.
