im gonna start a rumor but ill keep everyone posted since i work at sfog. went into work today and the ninja was not operating (which was unusual) and a big giant crane thingy was parked next to it. ive heard that we will be getting a new ride for 2004, and i would be thrilled to see the ninja go, it is painful, the line is always empty and no one likes it at all. anyway if they start to disassemble it ill post some more mushy gossip. lol

Hey, Roller, you serious? I've heard that Ninja was on the removal list, but I'd be expecting some serious changes to the park soon. Look for Monster Plantation to be leaving this year. Where Ninja is may be where they're going to put the new coaster, if it gets built.

2001was supposed to be freefalls last year but its still going. as for the ninja, it was operating this weekend, and i agree that the monster plantation has lived its life, the monsters and stuff in there are all moldy and dont even move anymore. and yes the park is undergoing some transformations like for how we were trained which was extremely different from previous years. the park is cleaner and the employees are a lot nicer. i would hope we get either a hyper/giga coaster (something longer than 2800 feet) or a lim coaster, but it'll be difficult since there is a 200ft. cap on our rides...

Well, obviously, Freefall is still running. (I remember the naming contest they had for that ride!) It's a good ride, even if it scares the bejeezus out of me. It's not the drop, it's the push out at the top that frightens me.

Do you know if there's a Jonathn Ochs working in management there? He's the gentlemen I spoke with at a Season Pass focus group about park development. If you do, you might want to talk to him, and mention that the focus group leader guy says hi.

Yes, we talked about the 200ft restriction, and in his words....

"Yea, but it doesn't say anything about going underground."

So, now the rumor is a hypercoaster with a significant portion of it underground, with a tunnel as far as possibly 100ft deep.

yes, going underground would seem logical, and gnarly :) and yup, freefall is still scarin the crap outta folks. dejavu opened today! my personal favorite...(i work there) i think the kinks should be nice and ironed out by now, it underwent some major surgery. but yea, im hoping for a nice biggy coaster in the near future because that is what our park lacks, a nice long ride. and for crying out loud, we were the second six flags park to open! we should be up there with magic mountain!!! wishful thinking ;)

I hope you are wrong. I love Ninja. It is so smooth, and well-made. I went there just last week and it was operating, and there was no "big giant crane thingy" there. I rode it twice. I don't know what you are talking about, but I hope they never take out Ninja. I seriously like that ride.

holey crap?! smooth? youve gotta be joking! first off it is made by vekoma, notorious for a good head banging. the only fortunate victims on ninja are really tall people whose head sticks way far out from the hard as a rock shoulder harnesses. it is the most un-popular coaster at sfog, and has lived its life. yes, there is no more crane by it, but the rumors are, that we wont be seeing ninja or the freefall in the near future.

heard today (once again) that ninja and splashwater falls were on the bye-bye list at sfog. thank you Jesus! theyre both horrible and unpopular.

Well, I'm 6'2". I still love it. My mom does too, and she is about 5'4". I hope they don't take it out, but I'll get over it if they do.

Splashwater Falls? You're kidding. There's usually a full line on it, especially in the summer months. It's the best, most reliable way to get wet there.

Trust me, if anything's going next season, it's most likely Monster Plantation.

monster will never leave. yeah, splsh is reliable, but its technical difficulties outweigh it time open.

Beck, I know for a fact that Monster Plantation is on the short list of rides to be removed. Starting with the discussion/focus groups where everyone said that it's time for it to go, and ending with the SF executives saying that the ride had outlived it's usefulness, and will probably be replaced with a Scooby Doo themed ride in the near future.

Basically, they're going to rip out all the animatronics in it, and replace them with new stuff. The 'ride' itself will still be there, but with a new theme. It's also going to be one of those interactive dark rides, where the riders have light guns and shoot at targets.

freefall was taken out. ninja is still there and recently over the last season had a paint job in which the supports are black instead of white.

My goodness... this thread is nearly Four YEARS Old!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It's so far out of date it's ridiculous... for that matter, didn't we switch servers and lose all our old threads since 2003?

Well, let me see how accurate I was. Monster Plantation is still there. Ninja is still there. Splashwater Falls is still there, but is no longer the most reliable way to get wet. Several family rides were added, including a Rockin' Tug, Gotham City Crime Wave, Up Up and Away, Wile E. Coyote's Canyon Blaster coaster and Shake Rattle and Roll. Skull Island was added, which is now the most reliable way to get wet. Goliath was added, giving us a hyper, finally. (However, no tunnel... apparently that was the only part I got wrong.) And, for 2007... nothing.

What was removed? Freefall and Great Gasp... yep, we didn't see those coming, did we?

Oh, does this make me the oldest active poster here? I can prove I've been here for at least three years!
