I don't want to get banned so I won't post a link. But this is so amazing it's insane. If you go to ***********.*** and click on the first two links (soft and tender), you'll see the most amazing chick. Amazing.:bulb:

If you post the url, even if it does not show as a hyperlink, it's still posting links to porn.

Well, I'd like to confirm that it wasn't a link. It was the name of the website. And by the way, it was not xxx porn. They were photos of a woman who was not doing anything explicit. Just naked photos. By not providing the link, I was not forcing someone to click on "porn".

Posting the URL for a website is the same damn'd thing as posting a link to the same site.
So you have to actually type it in your address bar, or copy the text, S-F-W?
The rule state NO PORN as an absolute, not "no links to porn". And posting a link to porn, or posting the web address is the same as posting porn on this site.

While it may be the same in the eyes of the rules, it is not in effect the same. By posting a picture, the person doesn't even have to click anything but the thread title to be exposed, and therefore that shouldn't be allowed. But by posting the LINK, the person has to click it first, therefore taking an action, and although there are plenty of see-a-link-must-click-its out there, well, they need to get over that.

I believe what Invisible did here was silly and deserved to be removed, but I don't think he should get warning points. He didn't post an image, furthermore he didn't even (from what I gather) post a direct link either. Yes he did post an indirect link and that was wrong, but not something I think he should get points for. It was clear by him doing it indirect that he was I believe trying to be within the rules, furthermore I don't recall ever in my time here seeing this happen before, so it was a silly mistake, but an innocent one I believe, not a deliberate attempt at breaking the rules, so I think he should get a warning, but no punishment of warning points.

I disagree. I got my two WLPs for swearing when I first joined. nothing bad, but standard mispelled fecal matter reference :D
No harm intended, but I hadn't read the forum rules. ignorance is no excuse for breaking the law, as has been well-established in legal circles, I believe.
As for Ganon's comment--pfft. Not XXX? So? Porn is porn. women without clothes on is pornography, albeit soft-core.
Link intact or not doesn't matter all all. He posted a link to porn, whether you can click it or have to copy and paste
Invisible seems to be a nice guy, but this was just foolish. I don't think permanent bannage is warranted, but he certainly earned a stack of WLPs. Perhaps a lesson was learned.

Some of you still don't understand. I posted something like marke****ch.com
That's not a link. It's the name of a website. Seems I could post marke****ch here and people would believe I posted a link to a website. It's not.
Wormboy
07-01-2003, 03:03 PM
But you posted the name of a porn website.
It's still a book seller if you leave the "www" off of amazon.com
besides, you wanted us to look at a particular naked girl, I assume. That's pornography. Sorry dude.

marke****ch.com is the Domain name for the webserver 206.146.143.69.
Unlike 206.146.143.69, the other domain name you posted had a great many pictures of Semi Clothed and nude women (in provacative and titilating poses) hosted on it. As the models were in poses, clothing and surroundings intended to arouse the viewer in a sexual manner, the fall under the definition of porn.

The rules do not apply to the action of the person viewing the link, clicking it, or what-have-you. They apply to the action of posting it to these forums. If you read the first message in this thread, he was well aware that posting a direct hyperlink would get him banned. He went ahead however and posted the domain name. It shows that he was aware that what he was doing was not appropriate for these forums and that is why he got warning points.

Ah well, whatever. I won't argue but if I would have posted the direct link, you would have seen this woman just sitting half naked. Not like she was a prostitute or anything. But, what the hell am I saying? I like beach pics anyway. :D

Not being english I wonder what a titilating pose is, provocative I can understand.
And I think we can be sure Obispo researched the contents of the site thouroughly before he came to his ..... conclusion.

Titilating just means it is intended to or does turn someone on, you know arouse someone.
There are plenty of places to post this stuff - about 90% of the Net in fact - but this is not the place.
I'm surprised to see Randy defending it, he knows the rules as well as anyone - he even wrote the previous FAQ.
Whether or not it was a link is irrelevant, if you walk into a room with a closed box and say "I've got something really cool in here." you can pretty much guarantee everyone will want a look in the box. Giving the name of the site is basically giving them a box and telling them to look inside IMO.

I said they were wrong, silly and Obispo was right to remove the link. However what he did was an attempt to play within the rules, he screwed up and it did break the rules and I'd have thought that it was breaking the rules, but he thought it was OK. Furthermore as I said I do believe such a very indirect link (even adding the www. was not enough, he then gave directions too of what to click once there I believe from reading the already censored post) is unprecendented. There was no prior experience I know of that someone did this and had it removed.
I do believe it broke the rules. I just think that as he gave clear warning as to what it was, it was an attempt to play in the rules and unprecedented AFAIK that it should simply have been removed and a warning given, not a punishment too. If it happened a second time then a serious punishment or even direct banning should have been given.
I'm not disagreeing with the fact that it was against the rules, I'd thought it was too and I said in my post it was "silly" not just against the rules.

Remember, you have to be a “bad” boy in order to be banned. You can’t call for wholesale banning of a bunch of people without knowing who they really are.

The way the site works is when the links are old enough, you have to pay for access to those contributions. Even if I posted a link, you wouldn’t see it. Only current ones are free. (Actually, there’s an explicit section on that site that you also have to pay for. The free section is used to advertise the site.)
