How do you Modify to put tech in your tech tree

I have read, (and can't find the thread now) how to put terraforming tech in your tech tree so you can use it.

Can anyone help me here? If you steal or trade for the terraforming tech you have it but you can't use it because it was never in you tech tree to beginin with.

I know you have to unzip a file then rewrite something and then rezip it, but I don't know wich file to do, or what to do.

This forum is cappable of auto-formating a link, if you paste in an web address. However, if you wish to use a link, you would use Text (address)

That would generate a hyperlink to address, using the text
