Here's the problem.

I have a home net work setup. I'm on cable, it's connected to a NetGear RT314 router, which is inturn connected to a NetGear 4 port hub. I can join other games online, but I can't start my own multiplayer game that others can join over the intErnet.

The game is running on an XP machine. If it has a firewall(software or hardware), I dont know.

I know what the problem is sort of, but I don't know how to fix it. The game keeps serving on 192.168.0.4:7777. <-- The IP address of the computer I'm playing on. My current IP address my cable modem or router is running on it 68.36.13.104. I've logged into my router, and attempted to open the ports 7777 - 7789 and send that traffik to the computer I'm playing on, 192.168.0.4. I've also done this for port 80, and port 27900.

Then it's all set, I open a browser, and type in http://68.36.13.104:80 or 7777 or 27900 and it opens UT, and attempts to connect to server 68.36.13.104/index.unr

or it was unreal://68.36.13.104

Anyway, I've opend UT and started a new Multiplayer game, then hit esc, and looked for my game on the list of CTF (thats the game type of the game I started). And it's not there. I click on the LAN games, and it's there listed as 192.168.0.4:7777. I went to my favorites and tried opening it manually by creating a new fav with the server ip address of 68.36.13.104.

Still it will not create a game that's playable on the IntErnet.

I've tried this as well, http://www.planetunreal.com/TheAdminPage/BehindaLAN.htm

No dice!

Unreal patch v.436 is installed.

Thanks for any help.

I got a router and I know they have badass hardware firewalls
Maybe you should update your firmware?
copy and paste this into a post in the server admin section

I fixed it!

Read through these sites to get your answers.

To open up ports on the router a.k.a. port forwarding for a NetGear RT311/RT314 (http://www.planetunreal.com/TheAdminPage/rt311.htm)

To Modify your UnrealTournament.ini file (http://www.netgear-support.com/ts/doc/port_applications.htm)
Look at the picture at the top, and at the last row in the table below it.

So far the above would setup the router to it would port forward, use the proper server filters, and modify the .ini file.

Try it now.

I had another problem, I could ony figure out by trying to start a dedicated server, then reading the UnrealServer Console. It displayed a few errors, which by just searching yahoo for the error, I fixed them.

One was this....I received this error.
Log: AInternetLink Resolve failed: Can't find host master.mplayer.com (WSANO_DATA)

the fix....

MPlayer does not exist anymore, so you will get that error if the Unrealtournament.ini has entries to connect to it. Look in your server's .ini file and remove the line:
ServerActors=IpServer.UdpServerUplink MasterServerAddress=master.mplayer.com MasterServerPort=27900

Any questions!!! Email me through my username for this board.

I have to add on to this. I did everything that told me to, and it still wont work. Not only that, but the remote admin wont work anymore either. I don't know what's wrong. The listen port is set to 80, I have that port open, and it worked before I did anything. But now it wont work. What could be the matter?
