I didnt know you had a cedar point website, what a coinsidence i was just searching around and i got to this CP tour site, at the time i dint know it was yours until i read the segament about the mine ride, "Have you got a stiff back? Well, this one's the ride for you! I call it the Chiropractic Coaster" The i looked at the url and it said Jeff Harp, Very informative , i wonder if the story about the Carousel is true.

Ah, glad you found it!
As for the carousel, there are a variety of versions to the story. I don't recall which version it was, but one of the stories was actually told on Ripley's Believe It or Not. For a while, there was a plaque located at Wardrobe in honor of the appearance on Ripley's. (I don't know if that plaque is still there -- my last time at Wardrobe was in 1990!)

Actually, it's really easy...
Click on the "www" just below this message. That'll take you to my main web page. However, my tour is on my secondary set of pages. Just scroll down the first page until you see the "Harpo II" image, then click on that. It'll take you over to the Harpo II page, which has my Cedar Point Virtual Tour.
And, of course, you're welcome to look at all the other goofy stuff I have on my web pages. My main page also includes a list of the coasters I've experienced, by year, starting in 2000.
Have fun!

Thanks! I appreciate the comment!
Just to give some rough idea, when I originally created the Cedar Point Virtual Tour, it took me about an average of 4 hours per page. Each year since then, in order to maintain the site with what's current, I spend about 12 hours working on it.
With that kind of time invested, I'm always pleased when someone provides friendly comments!

I was just looking at your sight...i think its great!!!!!!!! I just got done reading day 5 of your coaster cruise. I found it to be very good and informative. After reading your article thing on Kennywood Park, i want to go there even more now...and i'm really jealous, cause i never got to ride the coaster as Steel Phantom. Also, i went on two vacations last year in that same region, one with my aunt and uncle, and one with my mom, dad, and brother. With my aunt and uncle, we went to Cedar Point and Paramount's Kings Island. With my parents, and brother, we went to Hershey Park, Knobels, Morey's Pier, and Dorney Park. And we live in Charlotte, NC, so we did a lot of driving.

I managed to get back to Kennywood over the July 4th holiday weekend. I found Phantom's Revenge to be enjoyable, as well, although I still think Thunderbolt is the best coaster in the park. Lots of air time on Phantom's Revenge, but it's got some fairly violent changes of direction -- be prepared!
I just wish I could find the time to finish my details of the 2000 Coaster Cruise! Then, perhaps I could add the 2001, 2002, and 2003 Coaster Cruises! With the time I've got available, I ought to finish the 2003 pages roughly in 2096, plus or minus a couple of decades. Those pages have taken me about 1 hour per coaster. So, with a trip involving 54 coasters... well, that's more time than I tend to have! To make it even tougher, the other trips had even more coasters!
If you're ever in that general vicinity again, and if you find you have the time, I'd recommend trying out the Blue Streak at Conneaut Lake Park. The park's a bit dumpy, and rather poorly run, but the Blue Streak is a fun old coaster. Unfortunately, the park is not in good financial shape. As I understand it, they weren't sure if they'd find adequate financing to open for 2003, but they managed it.

Harpo's website sucks and is very un-informative! He steals all his pics off of others websites! Ok so i was there when he snapped the pics od TTD and the awesome new paint on Wildcat. Harpo's site is one of the best fan sites of an amusement park i have seen, considering he has done it all himself.

As we say in the computer biz, Byte me! :D
Thanks (I think).
Going to be at the Point Friday? If Dragster is still running (and, based on the CP email I received yesterday, I expect it should be), I plan on popping in briefly tomorrow evening to ride Dragster, then, for Saturday, I'll be off to Fun Spot in Angola, Indiana. If I finish with Fun Spot by noon, there's a possibility of zipping over to Indiana Beach for the afternoon.
But, I'm golfing Sunday, so I don't want to get home TOO late!

I wouldn't mind, but there's still a whole lot that's up in the air!
I plan on spending some time tonight figuring out some possible hotel locations, plus figuring out the exact driving routes. (I've been to Indiana Beach, and I'm reasonably certain I've been to Cedar Point once, or twice, or a hundred times, or so, but I've never been to Fun Spot.)
Since I have to work tomorrow, the probability will be that I'll ONLY get on Dragster at The Point. However, if lines are short, I might pop onto Raptor, too. (Tends to be more families with small children on Fridays, hence the coaster lines are usually fairly reasonable those days.)
Also, the front seat of the convertible is reserved, since I do have one person joining me. The back seat is still available, but, as Paste can attest to, it's a bit tight and windy back there!
Of course, you'll have to figure out how to get to the Detroit area, first! I know, minor detail. Personally, I usually try to ignore the minor details.

I noticed the location info in your profile. That's why I through in the whole "minor detail" piece!
Is it going to be hot this weekend in Charlotte? If so, ride the Super Saturator once for me! :)

Hey Harpo, Nikki and i are going to Waste of an Afternoon to hit the waterpark and X-Flight and BKF, THEN!!!! we are hitting the point to ride TTD, and only TTD, well maybe MFer cause i am a sucker for huge coasters and MFer is like a child to me lol. I would be interested in meeting up with you on point, to get my 4th lap on TTD with you and guest. To this day i have not been in the park after dark yet lol, I just take it easy and ride what i want. Would you be interested in going to SFWOA and CP with my fam and i next month? it is ging to be the last week in Aug. I have my mom tlaked on to the two decent and the one good steel coaster there, and She is going to ride TTD, and my dad is going to watch.Nikki will be there aswell If your alone that day she will ride with you, you might have to hold her hand she gets a bite nervous, i owuld be too if it was my first year of riding the Bigg'uns! Just a thought, also we are heading to Chicago to visit ragingbegal and SFGAm, and MiA cause Nikki really wants to ride a real wooden coaster(Shiver Me Timbers!;) )
Well let me know.

By "last week of August," I'm assuming you mean the week of August 25th. As much as I'd like to join you, I'm tentatively scheduled for some training that week in order to learn programming .NET using Visual BASIC. I would have preferred the C++ .NET version, but they rescheduled that class to a time when I just can't manage it. Bummer. But, the important thing is to learn about .NET. And, it doesn't hurt to get away from the office for a week! Since that class is in Toronto, I expect to visit Canada's Wonderland while I'm in the neighborhood. I may also pop down the road a few hours to Montreal for a second attempt at visiting La Ronde. (The first attempt, in fall 2002, failed... they closed the park 8.5 hours early because of a moderate rain. The dimwits. Naturally, the rain stopped about an hour later, but they'd already sent their staff home.)
Don't know what time I'll get to The Point tomorrow (Friday). When you're done with Worlds of Annoyance and have arrived at The Point, give me a ring on my cell phone. Hopefully I'll be on my way to the park!

WHAT'S THE DEAL WITH THAT? You never told me that's all we're riding. I'm going to have to disagree with you on that.

You're right -- VB is ridiculously simple. But, it's the .NET I'm hoping to learn more about. Of course, with MicroShaft, any documentation can be expected to be pathetic. Hence a class helps bypass some of the MicroShaft docs.
