I can't play Unreal Tournament anymore, and this stupid Critical Error keeps showing up. it says,

Can't find 'ini:Engine.Engine.GameEngine' in configuration file

History: UObject::SafeLoadError <- UObject::StaticLoadClass <- InitEngine

HOLY JESUS, Where is "If you see Kay" when you need him..or her:bulb:

->Goto to your C:\Unrealtournament/System: find-> Unreal Tournament.ini, delete it(or back it up for profiles and such). Now run UT. You'll have reset some things.

Nobody here at the developer of this game your trying to steal(epic/atari) forum will help you with this.
Might as well stop by microsoft on your next stop and ask them for a hack to make your stolen version of xp work:rolleyes:
Go buy the game for $5 and rid yourself of these headaches and who knows what else your getting with the warez(trogans, viruses, corrupt files, missing files, bad inis etc etc)

On a side note you can download steam 2.0 and play cs as much as you want for free:bulb: legaly

Ohhhhhh! that makes it ok then  ;)
heres whats wrong
Its warez youll prolly never get it to work right or half as good as a og copy
you should make your freind shell out $10 and you both can play again
u might even be able to find it cheaper than that.

Actually, it does make it okay then, because it's 100% LEGAL! If you OWN a copy of the game, having a downloaded version wouldn't make it illegal. Ever hear of roms?

Ah yes, but giving the UT CD to your friend so he could play wasn't legal. The fact that he wound up breaking the disk on you is a nice brand of poetic justice.

I hope you kept that broken disk, otherwise your Rom argument is out the window.

Well this isn't my rom argument, because my cd is still intact. Anyways who gives a damn if it isn't legal. I've probly done more illegal things in a day than some have in a lifetime.

Where can you buy a new copy of UT (GOTY)? Best Buy didn't have it, and the local gaming store in the mall didn't have it either. I'd prefer not to buy it online, unless I've heard of them.

THX ALL

at you're very local, very user-friendly wal-mart!

It's not like Walmart always keeps it in shelves. There's probably only a 50-50 chance that Walmart has it in stock, and it would be as one of the random-miscellaneous-low priced-games. :(

i've seen it everytime i've been to wal-mart and k-mart, since i live in a small crappy rural city, those are our "best" stores, and it's only $10 here!

Crazy. Fortunately I live in a decent sized city, and I have an Electronics Boutique at my local mall. :D

I checked Wal-Mart online. The good old original isn't there. I'm courious about this... What if this game is no longer being produced & sold, is it perfectly legal to burn a copy? I've never done this before (COUGH.. COUGH..). What do you all think?

Nope, you still can't legally burn a copy. Intellectual Property rights to a game belong to the game's Publisher/Distributor and last longer (often a lot longer) than a game's usual shelf life.

Even today, many old DOS games that aren't sold anymore (and likely never again because most won't function properly in Windows 95 or newer) are still illegal to download because of this.

And I became all to familiar with all this legal mumbo jumbo in finding out that I couldn't legally download console ROMS for the same reason. Personally, I bet there is some money to be made in an iTunes-style website where Roms can be downloaded at low cost, but that's another topic for another forum.

But this "no longer produced/sold" stuff hardly applies to UT, as it still has some market value left in it, whether a $10 Walmart bargain bin game now or a future Collector's Package with UT2003 and/or other games of the Unreal family bundled.

Hmmm, the rule of thumb for abandonware is 4 years but, somehow, I don't think it will apply to games produced after 1997.
