I have two PCs physically connected to a Linksys wireless router (model BEFW11S4 version 2, firmware version 1.44.2 December 13 2002). I use the wireless portion for my laptop only. When I play Unreal Tournament 4.36 alone, I get pings of 30-70. When my friend joins in on the other PC our pings start off at 60-70, but then spike to 1000. For comparison, we can play the Raven Shield multiplayer demo without a hitch. I've tried changing my PC to a static IP and then putting it in the DMZ while leaving the other as is (DHCP) to no avail. Any ideas or suggestions? Thanks in advance.

Thanks for the reply Ajax. I have tried it with both PCs as static, and still get the spiked pings. Just as a clarification, I speak of high pings when we are playing over the internet, not on a LAN. I see in other forums and posts that there are other folks having similar issues with Linksys routers. Oh well. I will continue to search for an answer. Thanks again.
