View Full Version : The New Orion revolt mod

K i downloaded Megamod V.5 and i wanna play as the new Orions i went to Moo3mods.com and under New orion revolt mod it said Startships.txt Do i just put this in a certain directory and if so which one? And i gotta wait till turn 17 before they revolt then i load up the game as multiplayer and choose them as my race?

Ok, let's see if I can try to help you out.

Startships.txt is the culprit for the revolt.
It gets placed in:
GameDataSets\Classic_01\GameData\Common\Spreadsheets

At that point you play the game til they revolt (you will need to be in the senate I believe to see them go). Then you load the game in MP and choose the New Elder race as yours.

A quick warning though. For some unknown reason, the revolt seems hard to duplicate outside of the MegaMod.

It may or may not cause direct x errors when you try to set colony or outpost ships or migration from the system screen. Also you get it when you deply a ground force as them.

The directory "spreadsheets" isnt there. You sure thats the right one? Well i made one and placed startships.txt in it and went to turn 35 and they still didnt revolt or anything. Hmmmm what do you mean it seems hard to duplicate outside of the megamod?

the megamod may have other factors that contribute to the push over the edge for the NOs, and without those other factors, it makes it extremely hard to force the NOs into revolt... maybe go to the race modifiers.txt and take out a couple of their Unrest values... increase their HFoG and see how it works... Thats all I can think of to help off the top of my head.

You have to play the game on easy setting to be assured a revolt. At least in the MegaMod.

To be honest with you, we never did nail down just exactly what happens to make them revolt. But I do know that in the MegaMod, the startships.txt is enough to do it.

i downloaded MegaMod. Everything is where it should be. No revolt. What am I doing wrong?

I'm not running any other mods. It works on 1.2 but not on 1.2.5

I haven't updated the MegaMod for version 1.25 yet
