Hey all you cedar point fans, I was just intrested in how long yall waited in line at the Top Thrill Dragster(Unless you had the freeway pass). I waited 3 and a half hours to ride it. Then when i finally sat down in the train, i had to get back out because it broke down again. Just let me know how long yall waited.

3 hours?! Woah! Hope I don't have to wait that long.

When I waited for MF, the line was stretched way past the entrance to MF, but then it went pretty fast after 45 min-ish.

TTD (The only time I have been fortunate enough to ride it) 1.5 hrs, and that was being in line right when it opened... MF, the same, an hour and a half.

The difference? I will wait an hur and a half for MF gladly-not to keen on investing that much time with TTD as it is new, and a little unstable at this time.

A little over 3 hours each time I rode it. One of those times, I was among the first 20 in line, but the ride was late opening. The 60 MPH winds were wreaking havoc with that and all other rides in the park!

The second time was later in the day (on a different day). It had two 30 minute shutdowns contributing to the wait.

From the rumor mill: There's some word that Cedar Fair may be suing Intamin over TTD. However, as far as I know, it is currently just a rumor. My source was someone who lives in Sandusky, but who I just met at the park last week. I have no idea how reliable her information might be.

I waited 3.5 hours to ride TTD with Harpo, IEATPASTE001, and a friend of mine on May 13th, 2003. There were, as Harpo has already said, 2 30-minute breakdowns. I still think that riding TTD after waiting that amount of time was worth it. Since we had rode all the coasters we were allowed on already, we figured it was worth it to wait that long. It would make up for all of the waiting we did not have to do. The longest we had to wait in line for any coaster besides TTD was 30 minutes.

The longest wait i have waited for TTD was 3 and a half hours and as mentioned before it was fine and only had minor breakdowns nothing over and hour., the shortest was on a sunday i waited 30 minutes total in line and outside the ques. Also the launch is different now, ever since the major breakdown with the hydrolics, and it is better! Bring a euchere(sp?) deck in line and 3 friends who like the game and your all set!

alright lemme think now

1st time- 2 hours
2nd time - 2 1/2 hours (half our for front seat)
3rd time - 3 (break downs, and half hour for front seat)
4th time - 2 hours (1/2 for front seat)
5th time - 2 hours
6th time - Walk on (waited for the rain to stop!)
7th time - Walk on (waited for it to be un-broken)

what can i say? with a goal of 10 times, and a race against my friend whos a 5 time rider.. i gotta wait!

Man I can not see waiting that long for what a 20 second ride. I have waited in long lines but atleast the rides was 57 seconds after the lift, and also well worth it to me. I am sure that TTD is a good ride but I personally would not care to wait that long for it.

You need to go to CP with us and then once you saw Dragster in person you might change your mind about the wait. Or not. Either way, it would be fun! :D Anyway, I used to be terrible about waiting in lines, I got spoiled when everything was a walk-on in the beginning of the season and I swore I wouldn't wait more than a few minutes for Dragster- I didn't think it would be worth it, being so short. But now that I've been on it a couple times, I'd be more open to waiting in line for it- nothing too outrageous, but maybe a couple of hours.

Oh yeah, the original question:
I've been on it twice and I'd say both times were around a 2 hour wait. BUT that was because the ride was broken and we had to wait for it to be repaired and opened. Once it opened, it couldn't have been more than a 15 minute wait before we got to ride.

alot of people say they wont wait for such a short ride, but strangely its well worth the wait, and almost all the times i was on it, it woulda been a hour and a half wait if it didnt break down so much... lets hope its open wednesday when i go! lol

Well sadly the trip out to CP I wanted to take next month does not look like it will happen.(very long story). So it looks like the Pastes will get out to CA before I can get to Ohio. So I will have to wait on the waiting for TTD.

Alright, went to cedar point on Wednesday 7/30 dragster was down half the day (along with the mantis... which would later result to MF breaking down along with the Raptor when Dragster opened up) and i get in line, not in the que lines yet and they announce its open, everyone cheers, i finally get into the actual lines between the dragster, it was a 45 min wait, i was shocked, as far back in line i was i didnt wait that long! course this time being that i had a 1st time rider with me, i didnt wait for front, just in case it broke down while we were waiting for it, so i took 2nd front, i hate to say it, but ive grown immune to their 120 mph and 420 feet!!! i actually posed for the cameras!!!! and it was great lookin at the Magnum on the way up, and the MF at the top of the hill and the way down! hell i actually held a convo with my friend at the top of the hill for 2 seconds ..... still a awesome ride though!!!! it cant get old!! Magnum is still a classic though, and MF is still my fav.

I'm curious -- how many times did you have to ride before you were able to pose for the cameras?

I only ask, because I found it to be very easy to pose for TTD's cameras due to their obvious locations. As a result, I hammed it up on my very first ride.

(I find Mantis to be the most difficult one for which to pose. Way back in 1996, it took me 5 tries to get a photo with which I was pleased.)

ya see i was so wound up in getting my arms up that i never actually thought to try and pose for it until this last time, also dragster doesnt feel as powerful on the face as it did making it alot easier on me to actually make some kind of facial expression

Just to let u know CoasterXtremist, u'll probably have to wait at least 2 hours to get on. Well, the opening day, TTD line was 5-6 hours long. Normally it is 3 hours maybe 3.5-4, but that is usually the normal wait.

thats not always true, the 2-3 hour wait thing, lately it seems that people just dont even want anything to do with the dragster, the exact second it breaks down people just leave regardless where they are in line, a 2 hour wait can turn into a hour and a half easily... unless it takes a half hour to repair it in the case of a breakdown... which has happened to me but still, the last few times ive been on within the hour, and i woulda been on sooner if it werent for the fact i wait for the front seat.

I went to CP 7/25 and noticed the long line for TTD also. I was among the first ones there. I will not wait that long for a ride, so I ignored TTD until about 10:30pm. Everything was done. I had taken my 10 yr old niece and she had never been before. We then waited about 1 hr including 2 minor extra waits. I have been going there since I was a kid and if you can't get on first thing, the next best time to ride the new ride is very late.

I don't understand why they make people get off when the ride doesn't clear the hill. I was waiting front train and they always made the people on the rear car get off on our side then back it up and let the second car load into it. Going to the rear has a slightly better wait.

I like the TTD, but was disappointed in the duration. I prefer MF, Magnum, Raptor, Mantis, Mean Strak and Raptor. The thrill is great though.

3.5 hours on average...but the three times I rode it were early in the year, when it was breaking down all the time. The guy working the line entrance said there were only about 1.5 hours worth of people in there, but the sign said 3 hours. Guess they were factoring in the break-downs.

Oh...and hi everyone. Remember me? ;)

Sorry to say it was closed during my entire 3 day visit this week. Bummer.

But, on Sunday, I noticed one goof who waited 10.5 hours for the ride, and never got on it! (I gave up after a little more than an hour, but kept stopping by, just to see that he was always there!) Finally, after all that time, they announced that they were unable to get the ride running, so he went over to Magnum. By luck, I was behind him in the Magnum line. My sister called my cell phone, and we played around by discussing a rumor that she heard that Magnum was about to shut down due to hydraulic problems. But, we didn't get a response out of the goof! Oh well, we tried!

I think we may have had better luck at some response if I had said, "What? They just opened Dragster and shot off 3 trains, now they're closing it again? Gee, I guess those people SHOULD have remained in line!"
