Im in the chapel and stuck on the symbol puzzle to the right of the door on the way out the door. help me I cannt go to the plane ,the brigde is out and gate to the fort is locked.

The key thing here is whether you have found the crashed plane in the swamp (and the items inside it). If you haven't then this is why you can't solve the problem, and you should go back and have a look round the swamp first – don't read any more of this reply if you don't want the puzzle to be spoiled...

If you have been to the crashed plane, and have taken the blue lens from it, then fit the lens to the flashlight (Carnby gives you a hint as he finds it, saying something about it being used in police forensic work). With the flashlight switched on, you should be able to immediately see the effect of the blue lens on the inside of the chapel door, where a symbol has been daubed in blood. You have to find two other symbols which are at other locations outside the chapel (you have to go some distance to find one of them).

On the other hand, since there are only three symbols to be found, and they can be entered in any order, you can simply make repeated guesses until you solve it – as several players did! That is rather missing the point though.
