Ok my system:
AMD Athlon 800MHZ
384MB SDRAM
GeForce 4 Ti4200(Detonator 45.23)
40GB HDD
Creative Vibra 128
Win98SE
DirectX 9.0B
Ok, each time I exit I get this stupid error:

I have to restart my PC in order to play other games or run Ig2 again! I reverted to Detonator 30.82 but the problem still persist! Is this because of DirectX or the game itself?

The problems seems to be in the sound card!
look, you worte EAX EBX ECX EDX..... it's sound drivers!

Already tried running without an EAX sound card(using my AC'97 on board soundcard), it's still there!

EAX, EBX and so are registers within the processor, no relation to the sound card.
I do not know whether what that DDHELP is.

Check for DDHELP before, during and after running the game in the task manager!

Ok, I've heard AX, and BX but why an E in front if it's processor registors?!

I think it means Extended, for the 32-bit processors. Wonder what they will use for the 64-bit processors EEBX EEAX

Cool, I never heard of it!

yes, it is giving a hex dump of the registers and related registers in the CPU.
like in machine language (assembly language):
mov EAX, EBX //would move the contents of the A register (32 bits) into the B register.
same as a copy.
mov EAX, [some memory location in computer] //would be another type copy command in assembly language.
add EAX, BAX //add both register to produce a result.
all that stuff!
might look up DDHelp to see if that may give some hint.
I am using 53.03 drivers now, although I think there is even a newer one, and I am not getting that problem, although, I should redo the patches since, I am only in 640x480 mode and the patches from GameSpot were not like the old patches which i have on disk (cd-burner) that actually set up the setup program to take higher resolution, and the regular 1.05beta patch.
Well, the setup was I just copied the files into the IGII folder, and although it runs, I think my old patches actually Exe-cuted to perform the patch upgrade.
Have not found any other patches out there now, but the game does run, except my old upgraded Setup program for IGII is not different to support higher resolutions.
Patch 1.06 is okay, but from Gamespot the 1.05beta must be added first, then the other 1.06 patch.

1.06 already includes 1.05b!
