I try to run NWN SoU, and even NWN just before installing SoU, and I get an error box called "nwn" that says "EAccess Violation". I just installed both games simoltaniously onto my laptop. I've had them on here before, and they worked perfectly, but I can't even start it now. HELP

Well, before even getting a reply from either Atari, or Bioware tech, I found a solution from a fellow gamer. Go figure. In case anybody else has the same problem that I do (It seems to happen quit frequently), here is what "free spirit" (from the Bioware tech forum) said:
it means you have miss-matched files in your NWN directory being referenced from a file that shouldn't be there. and yes there is the possibility that you may have to re-install.

"3 ways to fix this

1) go to your NWN dir and delete the file xp1patch.key

2) install the 1.32 SOU patch

3) ok this way is kinda extreme but if the other 2 fail it is the only way. back up all anything you wish to keep (i.e. saves, local vault, haks, portraits etc...........) . uninstall NWN/SOU (ok i know you've already tried this !). now the important bit. DELETE the NWN directory that is left (this gets rid of any mis-matched files). re-install NWN. do not patch . re-install SOU. this will get you to version 1.30. you are free to do what you want now (i.e. update/not update etc.....)"

If you want serious, and quick help with your problems, I suggest posting to a Bioware tech help forum. I've heard from many, many people that Atari is *ell to try and get tech help from.
