How long must we wait for a beta...

At the moment, selection is done randomly, so you could be waiting a day, or a few months. Also, some games, like Horizons, have finished testing, while some games, like Unreal 2 XMP only accept new users every so often.

I would like to know how to get into Unreal 2 XMP beta then. If anyone can tell me how to increase the chances of getting accepted into that beta, that would be much appreciated.

At the moment, there is no way to increase your chances of getting into the XMP beta, as it doesn't not have a specialized application you can e-mail to BTA like Horizons did. And since the demo for XMP was recently released, testing will be most likely coming to an end soon.
