I have a computer with 750mhz, 320MB RAM and 32MB Video Card. Instalation and playing the game is fine, but the cinematics are real bad. The graphics is good, but it hangs up, evey 5 seconds, while the sound just plays over and over again until the cinematic starts playing again. I've never had that problem before on any game. I can always get through the cinematic (I don't crash back to windows with an error message or anything like that) but it takes a real long time, and it is not worth watching.
I have cleaned all four CDs, (have very little scratches) but they all have the same problems. And I have tried running them on two different CD-Drives.
Anybody know what it could be??? or have had the same problem?

It sounds like you have an XP running on your machine is that correct?
If it is, then just set the compatibility tab to Me and it should work fine. If it still doesn't, then set the minimum and maximum of the virtual memory of the system to 512 that should solve problems too with skipping video.
If none of the above work then try the noCD.

Thanx for the tips folks, but they didn't really help me.
Your'e by the way right, I use XP Pro.
I set the compatibility tab to 98/ME, byt then I got an Error in the ig2.icd when I tried to start the game.
Then I tried changing the virtual memory to 512, and it actually worked the first time I played the game, but now the cinematics skipp like before :(
Please feel free to give me more tips, I would really like to see those cinematics...........

If it worked once, it should work all the time! That's a golden rule. There must be a setting when the game runs. Do you have all the patches? If so, try setting the game to run in the highest resolution possible, if it doesn't let it, it must be a DirectX problem.
If it does, it is either nvidia or binkVideo.
Try the following as well. Run the game! If skips, restart fresh -> run the game. If out of five it works once, then it should be a problem with XP tasks running. Try plyaing with the idle sensitivity bar or the priority settings of the game.
I had the exact same issue, but compatibility worked fine with me, and virtual memory with others.
But if I can help, I will.

XP Pro - CONTROL PANEL - SYSTEM - ADVANCED TAB - PERFORMANCE SETTINGS ( click button) ADVANCED TAB ( top left) and select "adjust for best performance of BACKROUND SERVICES."
This makes my stuttering videos watchable.

Thanks for all the tips ppl, but they helped little, unfortunately. But then I came upon a german patch made on www.clickteam.com, and that made the cinematics run smooth. It has some bugs I think, but the best thing about the patch is that it allows you to enter f.ex the Solarion campaign directly from the Solarian CD, you don't have to use the main CD, then put in the other CDs.

:P I don't have NOW any patch or update and I have to use main cd only in skirhmish, scenario and installation. If I want to play Solarian campaign I just put Solarian cd in and start Imperium Galactica 2..
