I think its an articulated lorry, or semi with trailer. Some new vehicles, I like that Ferrari Dino (9th and 10th PS2 pic), and finally another pic of the Corvette emerges (3rd picture of Miami in locations).
Oh yeah, for all you die hard fans, the trailer on the official site has 4 new clips in it of a black Mustang, it may be worth the download to you.

Being a webpage designer, I have to say that is the tightest webpage I have seen in a long time!!! With wallpapers videos and music its freakin' awesome.
Hey PR_Flak there should be some AOL AIM icons on there too, just a suggestion, nothing wrong with the page.

When is the forum going to be up?
Tanner02
12-24-2003, 04:21 PM
Probably close to the release date, if not, afterwards it might be opened up, my guess would be that it might just be a link to this forum, cause why would you waste extra bandwidth?

how do I register for the forum?
Tanner02

ON the webpage there is a signup portion that says just that and you fill in some info really quick.

My guess is this will be the forum, cause if you look at Driver 1 and 2's sites, the forum link goes here. But who knows, since they don't have a link up.

I hate to be repeating myself but I do feel this is a good idea. PR_Flak could you forward information to the webmaster to redo the webpage: http://driver.gtgames.com/ I feel it to be horrible to waste webspace and leave webpages unattended and out of date. The two subpages for Driver 1&2 are great pages just they need some updating to make them cooler and up to today's standards. Then you can add the link for Driver 3 one there.
Cause with Driv3r being such a great page it would be a shame NOT to have a central driver information page with the page ALREADY MADE. Not asking too much plus I think we would love it and make it easier for a fan to find the info we need.

Hey everyone the Official DRIV3R site has been updated, They finally changed the release date to JUNE 2004.
Breaking news I know.
They should get the forums up and running as it would be nice to see the kind of traffic the official site would get, there is a whole world of driver fans (12 million copies sold 1+2) and I would like to here from them.
matt__jon
02-03-2004, 06:20 AM
Is that all they changed? Cause we already knew that.
stuntdriver
02-03-2004, 02:59 PM
Yes that is all I can see that was changed, I have been going to the site frequently since the delay was announced just to see how long it took them to change it from March to June. So I quess this kinda tells you how quickly they tend to their site.

There are rumors of an update at the Official DRIV3R site to happen next week sometime which will include lots of new images and other cool content.
It is about time, lets hope they keep the updates a bit more frequent from now on.
Well just went there and they due have a NEW making of "Run the Gauntlet" called "Running the Gauntlet" available for download,(43.3MB) more screenshots called pack 02 for PS2, and a screensaver. So maybe the update is already done?
Well I hope we get more some.
Also, driver.theextremnetwork has some new pics of a press event in Antwerpen, Belgium CLICK HERE (http://driver.theextremenetwork.com/driv3r/screens/screens9.html)

If you wish to be the master, you must first face one, young stuntdriver.
Driv3r's gonna blow VC to teensy little bits, which will float around aimlessly like so much...er...stuff.

I love particle effects, and Driv3r has them a plenty.

I don't know what particle effects are, but I like the sound of them, and the more the better I say!!

Look at the particle effects on the XBOX screens, then the PS2. The XBOX's are AWESOME! Especially the explosions.

Someone please enlighten those in the dark, what are particle effects?

Little pieces of whatever you like flying around like so much cosmic dust. Were talking teensy-weensy, tiny-winey, itty-bitty.
Or larger things...

PARTICLE EFFECTS:
In computer games there is often the need to move or animate a huge quantity of relatively simple objects. Imagine for example snow falling from the sky or the explosion of a firework rocket. In both cases a huge number of graphical objects has to be used, moved and animated. In computer game terms these effects are called particle effects.
In a particle effect a single particle is a very simple object, just enough to define its simple state including the information about its movement, animation and life cycle. Although possible, normally no complicated motions or huge graphics are associated with a single particle. Mostly the graphic of an individual particle is just a colored dot, circle or line. The movement of the particle is self contained and follows a physical trajectory originating from the starting point of the particle effect. Always associated with each particle is its current age and a certain maximum lifespan which the particle lives until it ceases. When this happens the particle is automatically removed from the display. Often other properties, like the color of the particle will depend on the age of the particle.
Important for particle effects is the ease of use for the programmer. Particles once inserted into the system move and live by themselves until they stop existing. The main program does not need to control the individual particles anymore.
Particles gain their main use from appearing in huge quantities. Having just one particle is clearly not enough to achieve impressive graphical effects. However, inserting virtually thousands of particles into the graphics can create stunning effects.
Typical examples for particle effects are rain, snow fall, explosions, moving stars, fireworks and to some extend also fires and burnings.
Below are 2 XBOX screens, check out the intense amount of tiny bits of shrapnel in the explosion. VERY impressive.

Now look at these PS2 shots, no where nearly as detailed. (but still very nice for PS2)

About the screens, thats alright, you Xbox people can have all those ugly squares fly out of your explosions, they look bad anyway.

There is nothing wrong with the PS2, I will rent that version and compare it myself.
I mainly like the really fine particles, especially in the top picture.

I just wish the car would smoke for longer afterwards, in a real explosion the car bursts into flames with black smoke pouring out of it, more like The Getaway, I liked setting the cars on fire cause it looked good. Anyway, I like the first and last explosions you posted the best.
HomerSimpson
04-16-2004, 03:16 PM
The best part about the Getaway was that after the car was on fire and the fire went out, you could get back in and drive away.
You couldn't go all that fast because your tires were burned completely off but it was still fun.

I like shooting farther away cars, so the driver stays in, but then they don't die, so when traffic starts moving again, they start driving their smoking cars, but while they're still driving it still drives like normal.

If you are seriously wanting to do the missions on Driv3r when it comes out, rent or buy Stuntman[previous game] and make a course with barrels and cars to make obsticals and practice moves from the car- park in Driver 1. Here they are; Burnout, Gas, Brake, 180, 360, reverse 180, handbrake, lap, slalom[do it during the lap], fast stop and hard steer.
