Driv3r Demo?

What I would like to have is a playable demo of some sort, I know the game comes out mid-March but I feel it is an opportune time for a demo of DRIV3R to show up whether it be for XBOX, PS2, or PC (I prefer XBOX, but will take it anyway given). I remember when I received my demo of Driver for the PS1, I was hooked & played it to death (still have it). It helped me pass the time until its full release. What ever happened to all those cool playable demos I would receive in the mail? I suppose with all the Gaming mags serving up the demos it is a lost practice. So come on Atari, release a playable mission to a gaming mag or make it available as a PC download, and PLEASE do it soon!!!!! If anyone knows of this happening please inform me as to when and how.

Also does anyone know of any preorder specials taking place that includes goodies like Best Buy did with Stuntman? Let me know as I am a DRIV3R junkie and I need my fix.

BTW: I am looking forward to the DRIV3R short films starting in late Jan. Sounds like it will be quite cool.

I don't know about any demos coming out anytime soon, but I think the earliest we'll see a PS2/Xbox demo would be early March, cause thats when the April mags will be released. And thats a little over 2 weeks before the release date. If they do that, I'll only get the demo if anyone else is going to the store, cause it doesn't really matter, even though the MGS demo I got with my PS1 was great and I played that to death too, after I figured out what the hell I was doing. Anyway, the demo I'm most looking forward to is PC. I wonder when it will be released since the actual version for PC comes out 3 months after the consoles. I'll buy it and compare it to the PS2 version. I'll probably end up getting the PC version anyway since I can't take the PS2 to college.

I don't know about special pre-orders, you can preorder the game at probably any game store, I don't know how Best Buy did it though, so I can't really say anything.

I'm looking forward to those films too, even though they won't have any actual gameplay in them. Just people acting out the game.

That is exactly what I am waiting for, some one has to have some type of promotional preorder offer! Best Buy, Electronics Boutique, Software ect.. And they should be doing it as soon as the advertising really kicks off after the first episode of Run The Gauntlet. Which ever store has the first/best offer will be the one with my money.

Well I don't think anyone has the demo yet except Atari and Reflections, and they probably won't release it until its gone gold, which could be a while.

hello, matt_john knows me from the old driver2 forum.MY CPU IS BROKE.this is my friends cpu, but anyway there is already one out, but its on a demo disk that comes with something but my friends friend has it and he says the only thing different from it a gtavc is you can swim, so i just block my ears and say imnot listining im not listening im not listening.i dont care what he says, im buyin it. i hope its not a dissapointment

could you please give an exact date as I NEED TO PLAY THIS GAME!!!! I read your post on the OPM issue and it is not listed to appear in the March 04 issue. Also could you please find out if it will be available for XBOX as well, either way I will get it for which ever format available or both to compare. When I think of DRIV3R I am 28 going on 10 playing with my Optimus Prime, and I just found out my Mom got me Jetfire. This game and every thing the Driver series is makes me very happy to be a gamer I love car chase movies and this game it seems was made just for me (US)

I agree as the PC version would have the utmost easy access as you can download it right her from Atari's site.

Yeah, except a lot of people would start downloading it. And a PC version demo probably wouldn't be too fr behind since the release dates are now a few weeks apart rather than months. I was trying to download the Far Cry demo, but its going too slow, it looks like it could be good.

I got the Far Cry demo and it is cool, very good looking game. It was an extremely slow download and I have cable, it is approximately 500MB's if you want it we could see how fast a MSN Messenger file transfer would take, I am sure it would be awhile but if you really want it.

I hear a lot of talk about a demo, but I think they might hold out on us. They want to torture us! Pressure us into buying it immediately, rather than the demo first. I'm still going to look out for a demo anyway. If anyone finds out about a demo, POST IMMEDIATELY! I constantly wonder about one and I can't wait till my worrying stops.
