I guess you're a PC gamer then. Well, sorry to say, but does the PS2 suck so much because it gets so many better games then PC?

Nintendo Gamecube is what i am talking about, i mean sure ps2 sells really well and is definately well suitable for driver 3 but i think nintendo deservers driver 3 more than the xbox or PC. I am very dissapointed in atari.

Well, I don't know if it deserves it more, but it definately deserves it. Do cube owners even get Mafia? If not, then I guess the only games in the genre they have are True Crime and Hit and Run. Well, maybe next generation, if Nintendo remembers 3rd party support early on. I still think though they should keep working on it, but its probably too late now. Even if it was released late 04. But I guess Reflections wants to focus on next gen projects.

Xbox and Gamecube rock. I own both and between the two I can pick up awesome games. I own Xbox for the graphics and the better games and I own Gamecube cause I am a loyal Nintendo fan. Why do people bash Nintendo. They are the only company making a game system that is strictly that A GAME SYSTEM. Not try to make a dual DVD player or wasting time on online play (though that is very awesome at times the other reason its nice to have an Xbox) but if you buy a system to play games the system should PLAY GAMES GOOD.
Another thing, I feel games (like Namco's Dead to Rights 2) should involve a whole lot more than just the game at hand. If your wanting to cram a lot of features into something, it should be the game, not the system.

I see what you're saying, the only thing I really need with my PS3 is a DVD player (well, along with the gameplaying part of course), I don't burn discs or anything, but if I do, I'd use fire, useless AOL discs. Of course, it'd also be more convenient if the PS3 comes with a remote control for the DVD part. Oh yeah, no wireless controllers or anything unless you're gonna ship rechargeable batteries and their recharger with the PS3. I hate this damn laser mouse, its cordless, so you have to replace the batteries almost every week. We should take them out when we're not using the PC.

If you go to the Atari official webpage the game is for Gamecube, Xbox and Gameboy Advance NOT PS2

I hope that's not true... it still says Driver 3... plus, they'd only have 2 months to finish the GameCube version, which they stopped making a long time ago.

Yeah, I would hope for GC owners that they kept working on D3 and released it around Xmas time or something. But I think since the did scrap it, they have a lot of catch up work to do if they started working on it again.

It's confirmed it's for GC, PS2, XBOX, and GBA. :D

You missed it while you were gone, the GC version was cancelled.

Was it officially cancelled? I do not recall an announcement. Perhaps the GC version was put on hold and the PC version pushed back so the entire development team could focus on getting the XBOX & PS2 versions out the door in time with the quality they want. Just a thought, but that is what I would do. Stop development on the lesser markets to finish up the more popular consoles. I know PC is a popular gaming format but the Driver series have always come to the console market first. I still think DRIV3R will show up on the GC it will just be a matter of time. I mean $50 + a couple 100,000 copies is still good money.
So between the two consoles (XBOX & PS2) do you guys feel this game is anticipated enough to sell a million plus copies in its first week? I believe it will, I mean this is FRICKIN' DRIVER!!!!

Yeah, I'm pretty sure it could have that many presold copies. But the GC was officially cancelled. I can't find the article right now, but in the article Atari said they were cancelling Terminator 3 and D3 for GC because they can't get it to work fast enough or something, and they want to focus on the lead consoles. Well, I would also keep working on the GC version, because now that the price has dropped to $99 and it was the second best selling console over Xmas, it could become a potential cash cow. Maybe they'll start working on a GC version after the PS2 and Xbox versions are finished.

Just go to the slightly more up-to-date driv3r.com (http://www.driv3r.com) - see the PC, Playstation2 and Xbox logos. Looks like bad news for Gamecube and Gameboy owners.

I found an article like matt__jon was talking about. It is exactly as I thought the reason would be, but I hope they consider going back to it after the PC version is released. I would like to see this game reach all platforms. (plus my nephew has a GC and he loved the original game) Here is what was said:
Terminator 3, Driver 3 GameCube releases pulled
POSTED: 09/24/03 03:38 PM
Atari today confirmed it would not publish Terminator 3 and Driver 3 for the Nintendo GameCube platform as previously planned.
Atari confirmed today that two high-profile titles had been pulled from continued GameCube development.
An Atari spokesperson told GameSpot today that Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines is indeed scheduled to be released alongside the DVD (scheduled for November) but that "there simply wasn't enough time to develop the game on all three platforms. Therefore, the game will not be published on GameCube."
In addition, Atari addressed its decision to cease development on a GameCube version of Driver 3 by stating that "it is extremely important to both [the game's developer] Reflections and Atari that the game achieve unmatched quality in all aspects of the title when it ships next year. Because of that, we've decided to focus the efforts of our development team on maximizing the game's potential on our lead SKUs, Xbox and PS2. Therefore, the game will not be published on GameCube."
Atari said that Mission: Impossible: Operation Surma is still shipping for the GameCube as previously planned, despite some sources reporting otherwise.

Yes, everytime I read that, it seems like an even worse idea. The only reason they pulled it was because they wanted to focus on the other consoles. And now GC is closing in on Xbox. I hope Reflections wasn't in on dropping the GC version, they probably talked to Atari saying because of the GC version they'd have to release the game in summer or later, and since D3 seems to be the only game carrying Atari in the first half of this year, they told Reflections to cancel development on the GC version to get the game out earlier. Well, I think this is stupid, even if it didn't happen that way, just bring it to cube later, they need games! I feel sorry for them. Plus it'd give Driver an advantage for the next gen Nintendo console, if they make another.

If you read some articles on Nintendo Gamecube; They are already working on the next gaming console as well as games for the console. It should be out sometime in 2005, I think. And yes Gamecube rocks, Nintendo rocks and they will stick around.

Well, your avatar certainly makes more sense now, I remember you having a conversation with someone else where you guys were singing that song. That clears some stuff up.

Got linked to a page with that on it, ages ago, at another forum. It's not funny any more, but I'm keeping the av.
I don't know why people are so concerned that Driver 3 isn't on Gamecube. In my day, a game was only ever released on one console, it's just something you dealt with. They were more expensive too, Nintendo wanted £60 for Donkey Kong Country when it came out. The latest games on all formats are around £40 today. You've got it good.
