I hope in Driver 4, if it's not already in Driv3r, that they have start and stop times for the Film Director. Like, you can press pause and go to "start recording" so that if you're trying to get to a place that's far away in the city to make a cool replay, the tape doesn't run out before you get there. And on the start screen, you could change it to automatic or custom, so it could start recording when you start the mission, or you could choose when... Then we could make our own actual trailers with clips edited together, if you press "start recording" to do a jump, and then press "stop recording" it names it 'clip 1' or something, and saves it for the Film Director mode. Then the player could choose which order their clips from the mission would be in. I can't imagine Reflections overlooking the "Out of Tape" problem... whether they make the replays longer or not.

Well, I read something about being able to cut clips and do all sorts of wipes, maybe when the tape runs out, you can pause the game, cut all the crap, and keep going with some empty space. And I'm hoping you'd be able to save whatever replay you have if you're out of scenes you want to delete, and once its saved, clear the tape and keep going.

From what I've seen in the trailers, there is an amazing number of different skies and light effects in the game. I hope alot of them are from Free Ride, because that would mean that there are different settings besides Day and Night, if not an actual clock that you can set when you enter the Free Ride mode. I'd imagine it would be really easy to set up the time of day the missions are in, because all they'd have to do was set the clock to the time of day, and then add in the rest of the mission... I don't think it would be really hard to make the day and night rotate like in GTA:VC - It would add a great cinematic effect to the replays, allowing you to choose precisely when the car chase happens, depending on the area and feeling of the film.

matt__ jon is correct about all the things you can do, the film director in DRIV3R is going to be extremely advanced and according to a video interview I have with Martin Edmondson by IGN.com he says that the director mode is similar to Adobe Premier in aspect of how it works and what you can do.

The interview is an Insider only download and it is in two parts approximately 30 minutes total length. I have it available in QuickTime & Windows Media 9 if you anyone is interested I can attempt to email it or send it some other way. QuickTime part 1. is 181MB, part 2. is 121MB Windows Media 9 part 1. is 84MB and part 2. is 56MB.

Can you email files that big? Well, if you can, my email is matt__jon@hotmail.com, and even though I like Quicktime better, to save you some time, could I please have the Windows one? Or could you send me the url for the video? I've tried it before, I don't think that works, unfortunately. Thanks! I've been after those video interviews since they came out but I don't have a credit card so I can't join.

As I thought (and as matt__jon said) it is too big of a file to email. If any one would like I can send them a CD-R with the interview on it via snail mail, I get them dirt cheap so I would not mind doing it for a few people. I would include the trailers I have as well.

If you have no problem emailing me your name and mailing address I can send it out to you. Unless, I am not sure but can you do file sharing through MSN Messenger? If so we could try and do it that way.

Let me know as I would like to share this with a few of very interested DRIV3R fanatics if possible, I tried to see if winMX would work but it will not share those file types for some reason.

As to new additions he talks heavily about the editing as that is probably the most interesting part that we have no heard yet. There are tidbits of info that are said that help clear things up. It is a great interview minus some background noise where ever it was filmed.

Thanks,
Stuntdriver

Well, I did some thinking and decided to search online for some type of audio extractor and I found one that turns a WMV files to a MP3, so I went ahead and made two audio files of the interview in a one channel format which drastically reduced its size 6MB & 4MB and still sounds the same. Now I can easily email anyone the interview.
