Just brought home NWN Gold. The set up goes through disc one, but when I am asked to insert disc 2 and I push ok..it does nothing. After many attemps, it allowed me to get through disc 2, but did the same thing to disc 3. I have never made it to disc 4. What am I doing wrong? Why can I not install the game?

IT sounds like you may have one of a few things happening here.
a) You have some program like an antivirus w/script blocking causing the install to hang. Turn it off via MSCONFIG.
Instructions on this page:

b) You have the highly unlikely chance that you got a few bad discs in your set. Likely to have one bad one, but not two or three.
c) Your installshield program is having trouble running correctly.
I would say A) is most probable.

I have the very same problem and I can tell you that I've noticed that at some point (when required to enter disk 2,3 or 4) my d:\ drive simply disapeared...
Right now the Setup requires me to enter disk 4 and my D:\ Drive (CD Rom Drive) is no longer recognized by my computer...
What should I do ? Can I copy all CDs on my computer and perform the installation from there ? Or can I repair/resume the installation ???

sorry to post on this thread, but it's the only NwN gold thread that I saw... I just brought home the game and did the entire installation. It went pretty seamlessly. But when I booted up the game, the text was all blurry and I couldnt read what the menus were saying. Now I couldnt find any troubleshooting info on this, so it's led me to believe that it's my computer thats having the problems and not the game. I've downloaded the latest drivers for my video card. I've gone in and tried to fix the bit rate in the .ini file. I've fixed the flashing mouse... but the text is still too choppy to read. It's like there are a bunch of little lines through all the words. If anyone could give me any pointers, I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks again!
