Yeah, it sucks, so I'm getting it for PS2 until then, I might not even get it for PC until theres a price drop.

I just want to know... WHY, why is the PC version coming out so far AFTER console, its usualy other way around...

(for example, call of duty, its been out for about 4 months now, and the consol verson is yet to be released)

I don't know, maybe they need more time to get it working on all kinds of graphics cards.

Matt's gotta point there. PC Games probably are harder to do than consoles, but PC has better graphics because a PC has more space for a game than most consoles. therefore giving it space to have better graphics. i'm getting the game for PS2. because my PC freezes to much on games like that. :o but better computers run them better. don't worry Wheelieboy. it will be worth the wait. just as long as they don't push back the date. ugh, almost two long years waiting. i was waiting for this game before i even purchased driver 2. and, that's an awfully long time. but most likely it won't get pushed back. *Knock on Wood*. :D

It depends on the developer, you have the ones that prefer consoles ala Reflections, Square, ect... that will release their titles on PC after the console. Sometimes even letting another developer port the game over.

Then you have the PC folks like Blizzard, BioWare, Bungie, ect.. that will develop solely for the PC then if it is a hit it will be published on the console market. In the case of Bungie, HALO was dang near complete for the PC when Microsoft opened up their BIG @SS wallet, bought them up and had them make it XBOX exclusive for quite some time, then cashed in on the PC market.

You see most games hit the PC first because when releasing software there is no royalties to be paid, thus reducing cost and increase in profit, very good for a new franchise. When dealing with SONY, Microsoft, & Nintendo all three have set fees that need to be paid to release a game on their systems, I am not sure what they are for each system but it is probably something like $3.00 or more per disc per game. Then you have the uber hits like GTA that a company will strike a deal with to make said game an exclusive, like throw a huge amount of cash their way. You even have companies like Tecmo that just want to develop for the current more powerful console, (Ninja Gaiden looks like playable CG, just amazing!)

Then you have the smaller developers who create a game for a system then hope they find a publisher, like Criterion who released the awesome Burnout series (The crash game is the best) through Acclaim. They felt they could do better , went shopping around and who just happened to bite? EA, so you know this game is gonna get major support.

So as I ramble on there are numerous factors involved.

That really brought it all into perspective, thank you for posting that:up:

Yeah, I wish there were more crash places. Can't wait for B3. They only had a contract with Acclaim for 2 games (or years, can't remember which), and while the game did great in Europe, its US sales weren't much to admire, thanks to not advertising much, so they went to EA, who has 24 out of 25 games released this year selling over 1 million copies (good odds), to get the advertising they need. I personally don't see who wouldn't like the Burnout series. When I saw the first commercial, I was like damn, I need a PS2. When I got one, I got B2 instead. B3 is gonna be great. I think if GTA got its graphical department together, their graphics would probably look a lot like Burnout 2's.

But anyway, in the interview stuntdriver sent me, Edmonson said that steering wheels would work for the PC version, so they're probably also taking longer to make all the various controller people might have for PC work with their game, which could take a while. I have a sidewinder from a few years back that works fine on NFSU. Only problem is the d-pad is uncomfortable. I'll probably get a new one with a rumble pack sooner or later. I hope that when you drive past objects fast, or objects pass you quickly, it makes the controller rumble and you hear the sound of the air, like when a semi passes you when you're in the stopped lane on the highway, how the vaccuum of air behind it pulls your car to that side.

Also, I read up some on IGN, now the article about the cancellation of the Cubee version makes more sense, on IGN it simply said they cancelled the Cube version because other Atari games on the Cube weren't doing too good. Well, what do you expect? When you've got the only other hit game, DBZ Budokai 2, how much do you expect to sell. I think D3 would do better on the Cube because they only have one game like it, True Crime.

Yes more crashes are great, that is why I held out so long and got B2 - directors cut for XBOX, they doubled the crashes for its release. Seems unfair to the fans.

Yes DRIV3R would do great on GC, that is why I hope they go back to its development, They have to be at about 75-80% complete.

the reason they didnt do it for the gamecube maybe is either that a gamecube disc was to small to suport it,or it is ment for more mature gamers since the gamecube is used mostly by kids(mario, no gta, animal crossing) sure, its got most of our resident evil but other than that theres rarely M rated games on gamecube.

Maybe they're waiting to see what rating it gets, and if it is a T, they'll do it for cube. But I think they just couldn't get it to run as well, cause Nintendo doesn't have good thrid party support.
