View Full Version : Driv3r..... for gamecube, or nothing.

This game looks good and everything, but I will never buy it unless it comes out onto the Gamecube.
I've been a Nintendo fan for a long time, and it's the only console system I will EVER buy. So if you guys don't start making games for all three systems, which includes GameCube, don't expect to get any of my $$$.
Here is a list of the games I have bought that you made:
-Monopoly party
-Nascar
-Taz Unwanted
-Zapper
-Enter the Matrix
(all for the Gamecube)
I want to put Driv3r up there aswell, but it's up to you guys.

oh, I'll get the PC version, thats for sure, or buy it off ebay for $10 after two weeks of it's release. But I want to know why they don't put it on Gamecube.

Although I'm questioning how much I want the game after Driver 2 depressed me so much.

Driver 2 depressed you? Okay, obviously you were only paying attention to the graphics b/c I thought the game was overall great. And I know that I am not alone. I highly doubt it is coming out for the GC and you should accept it. If I had a GC and nothing else I would be upset too, but I wouldn't be complaining after it's been known for several months now. If you truly want Driver 3 either buy an XBox, PS2, or just play it on PC. Remember EBay! TONNNNNS OF CHEAP SYSTEMS USED.

I used to be like you, thinking anything that touched the X-Box was tainted, but i grew up, I realized I was missing out on good games cuz of a little grudge. So instead of saying stuff like X-Box sucks and X-Boxers blow, I just dislike people who hate PS2. In a few weeks I'll have enough money for an X-Box, Halo, and an ethernet hub. Even after I play the X-BOX for hours at a time I will still be a die-hard PS fan.

Real gamers are suppossed to have all consoles and games(major realeases and games that are important to you atleast) or go broke trying. I'm broke. But if you're not broke you have no excuse to not buy Driv3r.
Anyway, I lowered my cholestoral.

I have all 3 plus PC (obviously) I live week to week, but keep finding a way to get the games I want.
I lowed my cholesterol and saved 15% on my car insurance.
And another console I was going to buy just gave me some extended time to save up for it. The PSP has been delayed for the US and Europe. But Japan will get it this year. Every time the say "Simultaneous Worldwide Release" Japan always gets it first and we are delayed. H3LL, when the N64 was to come out it was supposed to be in the US first, it was even created here. But J got it first D@MN F*$#ING companies

The Nintendo 64 was designed here all the R&D was done at Nintendo of America. It was not actually manufactured here. It is unusual for a system to be created in the states.
Do you remember when it was originally called ULTRA 64?

Gamecube is dead. I have a PS2, Xbox, and a PC and there's nothing out there that I can't play besides Metroid (which I hear didn't turn out as well as people wanted) and one or two other games. PS2 has the good games (especially RPG's and driving games). Xbox has the good graphics (and Halo and other FPS's). And PC has the best of both worlds (sans fighting games which I could care less about anyway). Gamecube doesn't really hold much of a flame against any of these three in my opinion.

Too bad Nintendo is the only one that's upping factory output to the maximum and making a large profit (Let's see MS claim that).
In January in the USA, 200,000 Xboxes were sold compared to 130,000 Cubes.
So far in Japan this year, over a quarter-million cubes were sold and only 12,000 Xboxes were sold. 250,000 vs 12,000 is a LOT more of a dire situation than 200,000 vs 130,000.
Super Smash Bros. Melee outsells Halo worldwide.
The GameCube has more million-sellers IN THE USA Rated 'M' than the Xbox, including Resident Evil 1 and 0. What Xbox game was in the top 10 for 2003? I didn't see any, but I did see Zelda, Mario Kart and other Nintendo titles.
The only companies forgoing GameCube support are American companies that fail to make compelling games. The GameCube audience is either as a wider crowd, 2nd console or a dedicated Nintendo fan, which means mediocre shovelware doesn't appeal to the general GameCube audience.
You can say what you like in your little adolescent world, but the truth is, you are still living in a world where the top selling game WORLDWIDE in 2003 was Pokemon Ruby and Sapphire. Usa, Japan, Europe, everywhere. The GameCube is still easily a player regardless of what you want to believe. But you won't see much reporting on the GameCube shortage because reporters seem reluctant to report positive Nintendo information and even more reluctant to post negative Xbox or PS2 info because of some anti-Nintendo mantra of machismo that sickens me. Is it wrong for someone to enjoy Animal Crossing, Super Mario Sunshine or Pikmin? Does a high gamma level or an E on the corner of a game box make it less fun?
I mean, do you PSP fans even know about the other handhelds on the market? The Tapwave Zodiac is already out and is MORE POWERFUL THAN THE PSP IN EVERY WAY.
If you aren't part of the solution, you're part of the problem. Don't let ignorance influence your decisions.
By the way, if you don't believe, so far the ONLY 4 titles to sell over 1 million in the USA so far for the Xbox are Halo, PGR, DOA3 and Splinter Cell.
Check it for yourself:
http://www.the-magicbox.com/Chart-USPlatinum.htm
That's in the USA.
Also eat up this:
http://www.the-magicbox.com/topten3.htm#US
In January there were 3 GCN and 3 Xbox titles in the top 15. Not to mention on top of that, the 3 sellers, Halo, NFL Street and GTA:Double Pack are ALL AVAILABLE on the Cube or PC, once again reaffirming my position, any important game I can get on the Cube or PC.
I hesitate to post this as I have no clue what the response will be, but there's no other way to say it. Doomsayers of Nintendo are doing it out of ignorance or close-mindedness. It takes a big step to see the big picture beyond what your little clique of friends enjoy. Saying what you enjoy and what the country enjoys makes all the difference to a publisher, but in the end no one else in the USA has more million sellers than Nintendo.
Software sales make a company and that's where Nintendo leads. It's far from dead. End of story.

Oh no, its started again!
Except for one thing, I'll just keep my mouth shut because I don't really care to argue over Nintendo, I wouldn't mind having a GC, but I don't remeber seeing the Double Pack on GC. Maybe it was released, but I don't remeber hearing about it.

I said "GameCube or PC"
Besides, on the PC, I can play GTA online, put in my own cars, make my own skins, use ANY controls or keyboard and use my own music.
GTA3 is two CDs for the PC, so it can fit on a 1.5GB Minidisc, but Rockstar chooses not to do it. They seem to have some anti-Nintendo sentiment dating back to before the N64. You can compare publishing histories and see they're only interested in releasing crap games (Aside from SSSV on the N64) for the GBC and N64.
Darion350
03-04-2004, 04:38 PM
Not to mention, the games on Gamecube are mainly geared towards the younger generation (Pokemon might be the biggest selling game on the planet, but I really don't feel like playing it in this lifetime). It all really comes down to personal preference.

New news today, they're making a GTA for GBA. I might need to get one now. Damn it! Why does nintendo have to update their handhelds whenever I want to get one, it probably won't be any cheaper, and then better games will be made for the new DS handheld, but it won't be backwards compatible with GBA. Well, we'll have to wait to see if this GTA:GBA will be 3D, if not I won't get it. Plus that thing doesn't have enough buttons to play it properly. Alright, I feel better now, I almost don't want it now.

Then it's time to upgrade your PC. You should easily be able to afford a PC that'll smoke an Xbox. It's only running a GeForce 3 video card. I forget how fast the processor is.

Well, it has been said that the limitations of the GC prevent it from being released on that system, so I doubt it'll be released at all for the GC regardless.

Actually if u dont have an XBOX your missing ALOT of Great Games.
Super Smash Bros. Melee outsells Halo worldwide.LOL
But HALO is still a way better game.
Gamecube is a good system.
XBOX might be running on GeForce 3 but it can still pull games like DOOM 3 and Half-Life 2 in all there glory, something that no other console can.+HALO 2 looks as good if not better then Half-Life 2 and its ONLY XBOX.:p
U have to remember that this is the first Console from Microsoft and they are outselling Gamecube.
But there is no point arguing with the Nintendo Fanboys because they are little kids.XBOX and PS2 are aimed at 18+ age group not little kids.

And I guess you fit in neither demographic because you can't read. With a high-end PC and a GameCube, I miss hardly anything.
What person would actually prefer playing Doom 3 or Half-Life 2 on an Xbox? The game needs to be stripped down and played at a lower resolution. You can't make or download maps and mods at a whim or patch it as easily. Controls with an analog stick vs mouse? Would you even bother questioning that? But it all works out anyway because I'd never get the MS console to begin with. I have morals.
And Halo is over-rated. Like Goldeneye and FF7, it brought people into a genre and is remember for that. Xbox supporters make it seem like an end-all-be-all of games and it was a LAUNCH title.

Wow lower resolution. What about those who have a 50" HGTV.u keep playing HL2 on a 17" moniter when XBOX owners will injoy it on much bigger screens.

It sounds like u never touched an XBOX because XBOX has a Hard Drive and its easy for developers to patch a game or have Doawnloadable content.

A lower resolution will look worse on a bigger screen TV. Its like movies or pictures you download on your computer, when you zoom in, and lower resolution means smaller picture, so a smaller picture than one on a 17" monitor being displayed on a 50" TV should look pretty awful, not that I've ever played a game on a 50" TV though, but if it has to blow up the picture like a computer does then it can't be that great. But consoles probably do have some kind of resolution fixer since they have to be able to play on all sizes of tv. You can plug your computer into your tv too with some kind of cable.
Although I would still prefer to play on console so I don't have to deal with that damn keyboard.
Also HGTV is a channel, Home and Garden Television. But I'm not gonna be an idiot and pretend I didn't know what you meant like some other people.
It sounds like u never touched an XBOX because XBOX has a Hard Drive and its easy for developers to patch a game or have Doawnloadable content.
He said "make", meaning you make it, not the developers. I don't have an Xbox but I bet lots of developers don't make dl content for their games.
I've never played Halo, but it doesn't look that interesting.

Every single free download (Barring Ultramix and the $5 fee) on XBL has been known about and announced before the games even launched. RTCW, KoToR, Splinter Cell and MechAssault all had planned limited runs for what XBL was going to download. It's not adding more content, it's rushing the game out faster and putting the rest in later for the suckers paying $50 a year for a service that PC gamers get for free.
And even with component output, the resolution on a TV will still be limited to 1024, whereas nearly every single PC game runs at 1600x1200. PC games look prettier, cost less and have more options. Co-op is something I'm willing to sacrifice for that. Also, is it that difficult to buy controllers or convertors for your PC? Have you ever been into electronics stores? They sell PS2->PC convertors and Xbox->PC convertors so there is NO EXCUSE why you prefer PC games on a console except for being CHEAP(I don't want to update my gfx card) or STUPID(I don't know how to turn on a computer).

I do have a controller for my PC but my point was most of the games I would like to play won't let you switch the buttons unless they're to something else on the keyboard, take the Far Cry demo for example. Plus any time I put something graphical above low the game nearly froze. I have NFSU with almost full graphics on my pc, but it can't play the Far Cry demo with PSP graphics (looked like Death Juniors graphics). My PC, I don't know a lot about it, what I do know is it has 512MB RAM, 128MB ATi video card (9700 or something around there), and 2GHz, which is pretty good for a computer I own (usually have some of the worst pc's, anyway). I think I heard they brang Half Life to PS2, not sure, one of my sisters friends said he played it on PS2, so maybe they'll port HL2 to PS3.

Yes, Xbox has integrated High Definition support, but it's still not as clear or sharp as a PC monitor. Nor is the resolution as fine. You just can't beat a PC for picture quality regardless of the TV you use. Oh, and if you say that a 50" HDTV is nice, try hooking up a projector to your computer and use the whole wall as a screen... Much bigger, I think. :P
From what I understand, developers aren't using the Xbox harddrive to patch games. Correct me if I'm wrong since I don't use Live! (yet). I believe it's only use is for saved games and maybe extra maps and other downloadable mods. Actually, ignore this statement since I know nothing about Live!. I'm probably wrong.
Keyboard and mouse is also the ultimate in FPS gameplay. Granted, it sucks for driving games and fighting games but that's what a steering wheel is for. And since we don't have fighting games for the PC that's kind of a moot point. And one reason why using a controller for FPS is easy is because they have auto-aiming assistance since it's much harder to pin-point an enemy with those cross-hairs. You have much greater control with keyboard/mouse.
Anyway, my .02c
Oh, and by the way, HALO2 will most likely come out for PC later after the release on Xbox. Granted, I'm going to get it for the Xbox and not the PC like I did HALO, but that's not the point. :weird:

I know for sure that DOOM 3 will have Co-Op on XBOX.
"- In an interview with GamePro, Vicarious Visions' CEO, Karthik Bala, confirmed that the Xbox version of Doom 3 will include a co-op mode. The mode will allow gamers to go through the entire single-player campaign with a buddy.nfortunately, the PC version of Doom 3 will not contain this feature."

Little is known about Half-Life 2, but I do know from GamePro interviews with Vicarious Visions that Doom 3 will only have co-op on the Xbox version because VV is doing it. iD has no interest in adding that to the PC version, but that doesn't mean it's impossible.
