disconnect icon pops up every ten seconds

disconnect icon pops up every ten seconds or so and lags me for a second or two, long enough to ge killed, or i'll be teleporting down a hall the i'm back where i started, this is very frustrating, am running xp, and have not had problems in past just in past few days, please help, have tried shutting down computer and reseting modem, comcast says everything look ok, have no problems with e-mail or interenet just game

Does this happen on every server you try? What's your netspeed? Do you have any download apps running in the background? Did a virus/spyware scan to see if any clogs up your net? Also, try a tracert <serverIP> to see if the routing is bad somewhere along the line.

download and install Zone Alarm (get the free version) (http://www.zonelabs.com/store/content/home.jsp#) then turn off the XP firewall (the xp firewall sux, but it's better than nothing). The just then just tell zone alarm to let UT have internet access.

have since done something to msn instant messenger so it doesn't show up all the time, i think that did it, thanks
