:) Hi all,
I made a mod for I War 2. I call it Skull Squadron.
With it, you can freely summon three teams of fighters that comprised the squadron and some wingman groups in space, and can command them respectively or together. I still plan to make some more further enhancement over it.
The mod is accessible to download in SoupDragon's I-war2.com. For the more details, you could check out the link below.

I'd like to share a poem with you all together.
:)
......
It was always summer and the future called
We were ready for adventures and we wanted them all
There was so much left to dream
And so much time to make it real
But I can still recall the sting of all the tears when he was gone
They said he crashed and burned
I know I'll never learn why any boy should die so young
We were racing we were soldiers of fortune
We got in trouble but we sure got around
There are times when I think I see him peeling out of the dark
I think he's right behind me now and he's gaining ground!
But it was long ago and it was far away
Oh God it seems so very far
And if life is just a highway -- then the soul is just a car
And objects in the rear view mirror may appear closer than they are.
**********************
Though much is taken, much abides; and though
We are not now that strength which in old days
Moved earth and heaven, that which we are, we are --
One equal temper of heroic hearts,
Made weak by time and fate, but strong in will
To strive, to seek, to find, and not to yield.

I'm not sure why nobody has posted a reply here yet. It sounds like quite an interesting mod.
Don't get disheartened Chichi! I guess the thread got missed by some of the forum vets. Is the MOD available on I-war2.com? If not, contact soupdragon, its probably the best place to put your mod. Regrettably, I've not currently got EoC installed on my computer, but when I pick it up again, I'll be sure to check it out. :)

Thank you Greb for your encouragement!
:)
I still work on this mod for further enhancement and improvement.
I will send the latest to SoupDragon later, though a former one was already there for download in Iwar2.com.
the impulse of making Skull Squadron is originated from my sentimentally attachment of Robotech or Macross which had ever been an animated cartoon enjoyed by me even today. I made the mod just bring the relevant feelings into Iwar2 which has been a very good game with strong customizing ability. :)
The feelings of my own clinging to both Robotech and Iwar2, as year in and year out, not waning but stronger.
:)
Is the mod for online gaming only? Or there i some single player fun?
I have bought IW2 but I haven't bought the computer to play it since this one is oldie and not suitable to play it.
So I expect to start playing EOC soon. If your mod has some interesting single player I might enjoy it.
BTW, have you seen the Macross Zero OVAs? Those are GRRRREAT!!!

Hi AR81,
Very glad to find some people who share the same like upon Macross series.;)
The Skull Squadron can accompany with you through single campaign . I'm still working on the mod for some enhancement and improvement. I would launch the latest one when I finished it.

:) I made some more improvements and enhancements over the former one. Just to feel free to try and hope that you could enjoy it.
New Features & Improvements:
* You can now give orders to the whole squadron, that is, all of any teams or fighters available at once.
* To make the "report status" order more valuable by providing the details of target's name and to correct some order depictions.
* To improve the "halt" order. After you gave the order to fighters which would not only halt all orders but approach to formatting you, waiting for your further orders.
* To reload the default flee function and self preserving function with alternative ones for Skull Squadron. The new
flee function keeps the fighters whose flee signals were triggered from fleeing far away from you. Instead, they would fall back toward you with information. The new self preserving function makes the fighters which were hurt badly ( about 50% hitpoints lost ) quickly approach to you with information, and those fighters would automatically recover when they got close to you.
* The squadron and each team of it all have their tweak panels, which originated from formation controll panels, on which the formation control and attack mode divided into target-orientated and generic attack are available.
* Another, like kind of expansion of addiction, I add Expeditionary Force which is made up by three independent fleets. You can command them through a GUI on which fleet launch toggles and related order list are located. As for the specific ship type and number of each fleet, you can custom them over the SSquadron.ini in the mod package.
* I put into some music playing scripts whose interfaces are accessible in CSV file. You can customize it according to your will.
* Last, but never least, many efforts into trying to perfect the code for making it more efficient.
It is accessible temporarily through the link below in which the latest mod package is attached.(going down that thread, you will find the package.) The download link in Iwar2.com would be update later.

As far as why I have a fascination for Robotech is concerned, that is because it conveyed some sentiments from my childhood. Like an old friend, it took a good company with my childhood. It witnessed those pains during growing, including laugh, cry, fights and sufferings.
We experienced from the past to the present, and will go on from now to future. Fantasies today would become realities tomorrow.
Some depiction in fiction would be proved identical to some scenes of future.
Sometimes, I would rather like to live in the world of future described by Robotech than the world of today, for it could bring me more excitings and inspirings.
The mod is dedicated to the memories of the inspiring Robotech, the past childhood, the valiant pilots, and some more that I can't articulate at once. :)

That poem is indeed very touching, and a very good poem for any pilots, especially those fighter pilots.
Did the friend of yours serve in Air Force? Was he a fighter pilot?
I think it would be very proud of having a friend serving as a pilot in Air Force. Do you want to say anything more about his story?

this particular friend wasn't in the Air Force. It was a car crash he was in that i was reffering to, tho i do have several friends in the RAF

Actually, I still added a few theme musics for Skull Squadron mod. But I didn't attach them with the mod package, for their big sizes. However, the mod would run more strikingly if accompanied with those related musics.:)
Another, I think it would be better that there were some relevant Robotech's models, such as VF-1 Veritech "Valkyrie", for replacing the originally naval fighters of Skull Squadron. I was really hoping to import some models of Robotech, but I could not try to make some ones without the related modelling developing tools.
If anybody could help make any ship models related to Robotech, I would appreciate that very much.

Here is a poem that I'd like to share with others.
Alone
by Edgar Allan Poe
From childhood's hour I have not been
As others were; I have not seen
As others saw; I could not bring
My passions from a common spring.
From the same source I have not taken
My sorrow; I could not awaken
My heart to joy at the same tone;
And all I loved, I loved alone.
Then- in my childhood, in the dawn
Of a most stormy life- was drawn
From every depth of good and ill
The mystery which binds me still:
From the torrent, or the fountain,
From the red cliff of the mountain,
From the sun that round me rolled
In its autumn tint of gold,
From the lightning in the sky
As it passed me flying by,
From the thunder and the storm,
And the cloud that took the form
(When the rest of Heaven was blue)
Of a demon in my view.
Here is some words from my heart.
In the world, many things contain contradictory elements, even no exception of humans.
Sometimes we tend to be extroverted, sometimes we tend to be introverted. Sometimes we fear of being alone, sometimes we enjoy in being alone. Sometimes we tend to stay with our friends, while sometimes we tend to stay with our own.
No matter how many friends we have, we could always be able to feel lonely in some days. And no matter how intimate friends can be with us, there is always something within us unknown to them. For the corner inside our mind, we sometimes would be eager to reveal it to others, and sometimes would rather conceal it from others.
Just in the state of self-contradiction, we wade on swift roads of life. Although the future is full of the unknown and challenges, we hold belief, courage, and perseverance, and yet the yearn for being understood echos eternity of our mind.

YOUTH
By Samuel Ullman
Youth is not a time of life; it is a state of mind; it is not a matter of rosy cheeks, red lips and supple knees; it is a matter of the will, a quality of the imagination, a vigor of the emotions; it is the freshness of the deep springs of life.
Youth means a temperamental predominance of courage over timidity of the appetite, for adventure over the love of ease. This often exists in a man of sixty more than a body of twenty. Nobody grows old merely by a number of years. We grow old by deserting our ideals.
Years may wrinkle the skin, but to give up enthusiasm wrinkles the soul. Worry, fear, self-distrust bows the heart and turns the spirit back to dust.
Whether sixty or sixteen, there is in every human being's heart the lure of wonder, the unfailing child-like appetite of what's next, and the joy of the game of living. In the center of your heart and my heart there is a wireless station; so long as it receives messages of beauty, hope, cheer, courage and power from men and from the Infinite, so long are you young.
When the aerials are down, and your spirit is covered with snows of cynicism and the ice of pessimism, then you are grown old, even at twenty, but as long as your aerials are up, to catch the waves of optimism, there is hope you may die young at eighty.
:)
