Weapon Link and other IW2 Equipment questions

And yes, I did a search on this, so don't bite me; I know this has been asked before but nothing came up.

What exactly does weapon link do? It seems to...I mean, my Rapid Fire PBCs were already linked. Now they just seem to fire faster. And will it link weapons of different types- say, a light PBC and a normal PBC?

Also, I'm confused on some equipment (like what the heck the antimatter power pod does)- is there an equipment guide around?

I believe the weapon link mainly affects pulse-firing weapons to shoot in banks rather than single alternating shots (though I haven't used it in a while so don't quote me on that).

The "antimatter pod" was mainly a supposed tactical option of a ship, where you jettison the pod from your engine compartment (it's the equivalent of fuel) and use it as a last-resort hail mary.

It allows you to push the "F" key to switch between two firing modes for your main weapons.

Weapons link is useful for beam weapons. Fit two cutting beam on your corvette and fire in salvo mode can take out a destroyer in less than 10 seconds (provided that you are as good a pilot as me muhahaha).

Anti matter pod is for 99.999% of the time, completely and utterly useless. It adds a tiny amount to your engine output and a bit more heat, but since you tend to overheat before running out of power the AM pod is best turned off at all times (or simply uninstalled).
