Hey, Slate did a review of these really cool sculptures. They kind of defy the eye in how they stand up. Buildings of the future, if you ask me. I could easily see space stations made out of beams and wire like this.

If you are near London UK you have one week left to see one of the most amazing pieces of art I have ever seen. The Tate Modern has managed to catch the full feeling of the setting sun and place it indoors. I have stood in the Texas desert and watched the sun go down. It felt like this exhibit. If you are anywhere close, you really should see it.

The Tate Modern is a converted power station. It has a huge hall to display this sun (like 6 or more stories high) and so I doubt the chance to see this exhibit will happen again.

Does it rain in the sun hall?

No, that is the great thing about it. All the glory of a dry desert sunset, even when you cannot find a patch of blue sky for all the winter rain and fog. For about 1 more week, then it is gone.

There are water misters that give one end of the hall a hazy look. And the celing is covered in reflective mylar (covering a football field or more surface area). That gives the reflected sun a shimmery quality. It must have cost a fortune to build.

I bet the Aztec sun worshippers would have loved it. I snapped a few photos, I will try to get them online someplace.
