Huh, didn't expect this.

So I decided to do my annual EoC run through this evening. Fantastic, up until the part when I returned to base in order to save the game - AND IT DOESN'T SAVE! :bulb:

I can enter the text for the save game, hit enter, but when I click on Load game, the listing is empty. Its like its just taking my input, but not actually saving my progress. Tragic - waste of a night! :(

Anyone ever encounter this before? If so, how did you rectify the problem?

Wow thats extremely odd. I've never encountered anything like that before. Did you patch it? Are there any mods running? If you can't fix it I reccomend reinstalling it.

Patched, with only the crosshair and locationfiner mods running.

It is weird - it's not like anything has changed since I last installed it.

Weird...*cue twilight zone music*

Is the 'saves' folder in the main EoC directory? If so, are there any files in it?

(Just a thought: I'd never heard of this happening before either.)

And the save directory is not read only? (another wild guess).

I wonder if the registry entries are intact. Have you moved the drives around since your last run?

Could someone tell me where the save directory usually "should" reside. Mine seems to have gone walkies.

Also, the exact spelling (Save or Saves? etc) would be appreciated.

The folder should be named saves, and should be under the main EoC directory (i.e., it should be with sim, subsim, avatar, collisionhull, (and other) folders.)

If its not there than just creat a saves folder and your problems solved.
