OT: networking stuff

anyone here have any idea why a computer with 2 nic's wont ping host names over one of them, and that one cant be pinged by host name, but the other one works fine?

(also note i recently uninstalled the SP2 beta from that machine)

I had this problem with a WindowsXp machine the other day, someone had turned on XP's built in firewall. It would be worth checking that.

SP2 had the firewall on by default, had forgot about that., but it was a much better firewall than sp1's, so it never interefered with LAN stuff.
