I am still playing act 1, practicing freighter assault.

For some reason "I need Ore" mission can't be completed. What am I doing wrong? I go to Aldo and I find no Ore freighters.

I find the game very "atmospheric", which means that it involves you and you don't feel the "nothing happens" event as in IWar 1.

The first time I made the freighters drop cargo, I fought desperatelly because I was conditioned by the idea that someone else could get the pods. Fortunately it doesn't happen.

I recall when I harshly criticized the planet textures... Steve will remember (sorry Steve) and I find the planet textures very good.

Nebula seems Ok, but Since I am playing Freespace 2 too, the IWar 2 nebula seems a bit simple... but what the hell, it looks good. I won't throw a great game to the garbage can because of a nebula.

Lucrecia's base looks good. I love the music very much. I feel like playing an upgraded version of X-Beyond the Frontier. That's realli great IMO.

I also find that the learning curve is not yet as steep as it was in IWar 1. In IWar 1 it caused frustration problems.

The only problem I have is that I am not yet able to fight 2 opponents at a time. May be that's because of the bulky tug performance... or my lack of skills.

Don't worry, by the time you get your next ship, you'll know how to handle the tug really well. Just a hint, take any MCA missions you get as soon as possible.

What's MCA?

Mwari. Just keep playing...you'll find out.

As for taking on multiple opponents at once. Spend some serious time in the Instant Action game using the tug. You'll be stuck with it for awhile so you might as well get really good at using it. The biggets thing to remember about the tug is to pick targets carefully and don't get greedy. Know its limitations for they are many! Hitting the cargo vessel then running away a little is an acceptable strategy if it allows you to score pods and live to fight another day.

I-ve been thinking...

Is it possible to hijack an enemy vessel? may be disabling engines and weapons and then docking and taking it to the base??

I tried that once. Disabled a fighter, docked with it, and towed it back to base. It didn't show up in inventory, unfortunately - guess the programmers didn't expect anyone would try it.

That was an oversight on our part. We should have disabled all docking ports by default, but never did it.
