Okay, first I would like to mention that I am well aware of the fact that there is a seperate forum all brand new and shiny for UT 2004. With that said, I would like it to be noted that there is a reason I am posting this here and that is I'm more interested in what all the Old Skoolers think about UT 2004. I was told by one very good source that it is everything 2003 was supposed to be. Is this accurate or will it simply make me wish I was playing UT 1?

hey hemp.. glad to see you in our neck of the woods.

as for UT2K4:

I have UT, UT2k3, and ut2k4, and let me tell you what you have heard is right! There is no diff. in graphics between 2k3 and 4, but the game play, maps, game types, and definately better. Sniper is back in... multiple double jumps are apparently being kept to a minimum, vehicles are definately the kewlies (and I'm glad that Atatri finally got their act together and went the way of Halo with those vehicles). The weapons are cooler, and once you get past the learning curve it's even better.

First thing is first though... did you dl the demo? It really gives you a good pic as to what the game is like. I'll tell you this, I bought 2k3 and barely played it. I had more fun looking up the old people on UT servers and having some great games. 2k4 is definately an upgrade on UT, but don't expect to see it as a big upgrade to 2k3.

Buy it, buy it, buy it!

Atari had nothing to do with UT2.5's production. Epic designed the game. Atari just published the disks. :p

1) Epic still blow moose ass at mapping, so don't expect much from that department
2) Sniper is awful. LG is 10x better
3) They ruined the boost dodge (Listening to whiny newbies most likely)
4) Skins are pure black in DM for the most part. Neon glowsticks my ass
5) They put the HUD clock on the wrong goddamn side
6) Shockballs\flak\rox connect with walls much easier than in 2k3. So, you damage yourself trying to shoot shock balls etc around corners much more.

ruined it?:haha: It should have never been in there in the first place! Shouldn't have been put into 2k4 either!

Don't listen to MrD. He's just pissed because he sucks at 2k4. :haha::up:

2K4 is a vast improvement over 2k3 imo. The graphics haven't changed but practically everything else has. Well worth the money.

Well, it was, and it owned. Then they listened to the newbtards and nerfed it.

they should have listened to the old schoolers and never put it in. I actually prefer it the way it is now only becuase it's closer to where it should be.
