I-War: EOC is teh r0xx0r!

When I first bought EOC way back when, I was excited because I enjoyed I-War 1 so much, and recently I started playing EOC again and I just have to say that no other space sim can compare to it. It's so good in fact, that I'm saddened because there is a good chance it will be a very long time before anything even close comes out. Sure, you have Wing Commanders, and Freelancers and all sorts of space games but they just really don't have the depth that IW2 has. It makes me wish I had the brains, the know-how, the tools, the time and the rights to create an I-war 3.

If you like the free roaming style of EOC, you might like "X Beyond the Frontier". A bit old, but enjoyable. Also, if you look for an oldie, you might like "Hardwar" too.

The first game similar to I-War was "Battlecruiser 3000AD" which was supposed to be more featured than any space sim ever, but it was so buggy and the gameplay was so awkward, and the tech support mistreated customers, so I dropped it.

The concept of Battlecruiser was great, but the implementation was poor, terribly poor.

Later I bought IWDE and I said "Wow! A sim that works" and I enjoyed it but the learning curve was so steep that it was frustrating sometimes. It hasn't happened to me in EOC yet.

I'm also beginning to play EOC. It rocks!!
