Hello Everybody!

I just finished (once again) I-War 2 on my new pc and I have a few questions about it for Stephen. But first I'd like to thank for the game: it still looks great and plays a lot better then some other space-sims...

So here goes my 1. question:
Is there something like "I-War Bible"?
I remember there was an ad for "Independence War Universe" somewhere on the 'net. It was supposed to be a guide to the I-War story, characters, and technology... I wonder what happened to it?

Here is another one:
Is it possible to bind some key combination to turn various things on and off, such as 'dock-on turret', 'point defence turret', 'aktive sensors' and 'ecm system' (not sure if the names are correct since I own German version).

Do 'aktive sensors' actually work? I'm not sure I see any difference with them on.

And the last one: how do I use 'AM beamer'? It doesn't appear among other weapons when I outfit my ship...

PS Since I'm new here and if some of those questions were perhaps already answered could you direct me to answers ;)

Hi,

There's no such thing as an official I-War 'bible'. The original game manual is the closest thing to it, and we referred to it constantly when developing Defiance, and to a lesser extent with I-War 2.

We did plan to update the website with a 'universe' section, but due to time and budget considerations it was never properly started.

The in-game I-War 2 encyclopedia is also a pretty good reference of most of the I-War universe as it was at the time of I-War 2.

You can turn off dock on and point defence turrets on the engineering screen - press enter to toggle them on/off (there's a little checkbox that shows when a system is turned on/off)

Passive sensors detect ships but can't identify them. Active sensors identify ships. So long range active sensors allow you to identify ships at a greater distance. Active sensors also increase your brightness.

I'm not sure about the AM beamer...

Could anybody then "share" engl. encyclopedia from Edge of Chaos with me? I'd be very glad if someone would send it to me, my email is alexandersh at mail.ru (packed to zip or to rar and without images it will be no more then 500 Kb). I do own game, but it's in German, and I'd like to read original text...

If I were at home, I could, but that's not for another month :(

Nanoprobe might have the file from when he sent it to me, but that was almost three years ago...
