I would highly recommend that if you are able to switch over to xbox, do it. I was a diehard ps2 freak, but once I traded in for the xbox......WHOAH major difference (to me)! You won't be disappointed. Sure, I thought about the controller, but I got used to it quick. Xbox is by far the fastest console and has the best graphics. It all depends on whether you can afford it or not. I am very happy with my decision of trading in my ps2 for an xbox. But don't go solely on my opinion. Research first.

Yes, I recommend xbox too because...(same here)... traded it in for ps2.Major diffrence, and as for the controller you get used to it fast.

I would say go for the XBOX version. I own both the XBOX and PS2 and for every game i have played on both, the XBOX version always seems better to me (Load times, Graphics, Lighting, etc.), Just look at the differences in GTA3/Vice city, XBOX=Tons better ;)

I mean...just look at PGR2 (or any other title you can think of). Now try finding that good of graphics on a similar PS2 title. I owned over 15 separate games and I never beat more than two. I never got into PS2 games as much as I have Xbox. My friend says I like the Xbox now, but I will crawl back to the PS2...well, I don't see that happening.

Oh and I don't feel like I am going to break the console or the controller.... Sony did a crappy job of manufacturing the system. It had a cheap feeling. Xbox feels solid.

I see....(scratching chin)!

You know you understand it. Or maybe I'm just so tired that I am back to rambling?

EDIT: Is that better? I tend to ramble when it's early in the morning.

I'm not against Microsoft or anything, but I'd say stick with the PS2 because the only difference is a few more lighting features and a bit better anti-aliasing on Xbox, both games otherwise have the same content. And the controller is better on PS2, everything is in reach of where you hold it.

Is there a fee if you want to change what version you have preordered or anything? If not then I don't care. I just remembered you already have an Xbox. I thought you had to trade in your PS2 still (which would probably cost some money I would think).

I think that that you should stick with the ps2 and start saving for the ps3 cus if a driver 4 comes out in tree years or something like that you would probably be able to buy it on ps3.
but to be honest i don't really care what you do.

I think the PS2 is better. It has a better controller and I like the PS2's games more.
Just my opinion.

To be honest with you, I would probably choose the X-Box. I have a PS2, and don't get me wrong, it's great, but X-Box has better graphics and lighting. Also, X-Box has some of the best games that PS2 doesn't have. (Halo, Amped 2, Ninja Gaiden, etc.) And if you keep your X-Box, you can go ahead and preorder Halo 2. THAT is gonna be sweet! But hey, it's your choice.

X-Box: Better load time, graphics, lighting, and games.

PS2: Better controller, and small and light for portable use.

It's really personal prefrence. True gamers have both unless they really really suck at money (evil parents mainly). Of course, my choice is Xbox and probably PC too if I can afford it and it seems good for modding. But unsupported opinions are worthless so:
The Project Gotham style control scheme is by far the my faviorate for driving, and Halo is the only console FPS with natural feeling controls (probably because you could only carry 2 weapons, but pwnage still pwnz). Of course by that I mean, I prefer the Xbox controllers for this better than PS2.

im just goin g to stick with ps2 i was reading up on interviews on this game and it says that the ps2 is actually very close to the xbox and the load times are at the blink of an eye

I guess the clincher for me was most of the screenshots and the fact Martin continuously (spelling?) mentioned the tough time they had with getting PS2 to work out. But it's all good. Playstation 2 is a good console.

the ps2 is a very powerful machine. you can not judge a system bye its games. most people are lazy and do not se the ps2's full power. you think gt 3 is the best f the ps2's graphics? i laugh at you, for gt3 uses a mere 15% of the ps2s power.
and for your ps2 that feels crappy, you were probably mistreating it(shame on you!)
send it to sony to see what they can do.

I think the whole "load times are in the blink of an eye" is just a way of saying their fast, not that they're actually a fraction of a second. They might be 15 seconds long or somewhere around there.

EDIT: I mean Controller S.....Controller S.
