I put Busch there primarily due to some operations issues that I've witnessed. I like the parks, in that I find them very scenic. But, I've encountered lots of rude employees at the two theme parks (the Sea World parks have generally been better), and I saw some inattentiveness issues that bothered me. I don't remember the details, but I recall being very bothered by something on Gwazi, enough so that I commented to them about it. That was a couple of years ago, and I didn't record the details in my log, so I just don't recall exactly what it was. They also tend to be very inefficient in running their rides, which is also a characteristic of Paramount and Six Flags.

It wasn't enough to keep me away from Busch parks, but it hindered my opinion of them. As for the Sea World parks, I find that Busch does a better job running the shows than the rides (which is not surprising, since they are show parks), but I have a preference for rides.

Generally, I would group the park operators into tiers. 1st tier is Cedar Fair, Universal, and Disney. Second tier is Hershey (borderline between 1st and 2nd -- do a great job at Hersheypark, mediocre at other park operations), Kennywood (similar to Hershey, best job is done at Kennywood, with other parks needing a bit more attention than they are getting), Paramount (generally inefficient, but much improved over the late 1980's), and Busch. 3rd tier is Six Flags (who's credit rating was just lowered by Moody's, which could cost them quite a bit more money for debt, making it even harder for them to improve their parks).

I haven't seen any problems @ BGW for a while, but BGT was a little less scenic and a little more faded, but that's because it's a year-round park in a Florida suburb. but BGT is right next to some main street, and has houses right next to it. so my list of chain parks i've been to is
1. Disney
2. Busch
3. Paramount
