Does ANYone out there know if there is a real Mine Ride anywhere in the world? By Mine Ride I mean by the Roller Coaster in RCT2 with the onboard motor, which is used to move the roller coaster around a relatively flat track at an average speed of 20mph (not to be confused with the Mine Train Coaster, which is a hybrid wood-and-steel roller coaster with normal chain lifts and is gravity powered). I know that this type of roller coaster seems rather lame, but I personally see quite some potential inside it, and I would love to ride a real roller coaster like this. Anyone know where I can find one?

well, there's a really lame version of one on the Va. Beach Boardwalk Park, but it only qualifies by having a motor and running on a track.

The Runaway Mine Train at Alton Towers immediately springs to mind. There's a park at Ryhl in Wales that has one too.

Canada's Wonderland near Toronto has one, called Thunder Run.

There are also quite a few junior coasters made by Zamperla that use this method, such as the Rudicoaster at Santa's Land in Cherokee, NC.

Thanx guys. Seems like Toronto is the closest. Go figure they have one in Alton Towers, though... Alton Towers must be THE most common real park in RCT.

If you don't mind coming to belgium, we have of Mack powered coasters. It's an alternative for a kiddiecoaster.
