Just got back from a weekend Holiday World/camping trip. We camped at Lake Rudolph, right next door to the park.
The first day, we were a little disappointed because Splashin' Safari was closed due to recent flooding. Seems kinda ironic that a water park would be closed due to flooding. They made up for it being closed by giving everyone a complimentary ticket to the park for another day which we used for the 2nd day instead of purchasing a two day ticket.
Our first two rides were the Raven and the Legend, voted #1 and #5 best wooden coasters, respectively, on the planet. My daughter and I actually liked the Legend better though (click here (http://www.freewebs.com/rb2112br/rctpage.htm) for a pic of us on Raven scroll to bottom of the page). It was a little higher, quite a bit longer, smoother (slightly) and themed better than the Raven, IMO.
For the size of the park, they had a nice variety of rides and we enjoyed all of the ones we went on (we skipped the kiddie rides and the roundup ride was closed).
On the 2nd day, Splashin' Safari was closed when the park opened, so we got yet another set of complimentary tickets. It did open around 2 or 3 o'clock though, but they only had the wave pool, Monsoon Lagoon and one waterslide open. There was also a severe thunderstorm/tornado warning, which closed down all the rides until the storm passed. The park handled it nicely, calmly announcing it over the PA to take shelter during the tornado warning.
It would've been nice if the park was a little bigger with a few more coasters and everything in Splashin' Safari was open, but overall, the staff was friendly, the park was clean and was laid out nicely for a small park.
We also saw, what I originally thought was the Legend break down with a train stuck near the top of the lift hill, but found out later that someone stood up while going up the lift hill. They removed that person, and the person they were with, from the ride and they were escorted (and banned) from the park.
