Has anyone heard any good rumors about how B&M operates on coaster installs? I'm looking for a history of "screw ups" and/or "that guy doesn't know what he's talking about" type situations. Or is it "nothing but roses" for them?

I'd prefer to hear from any riggers/millwrights/engineers or inspectors that have done installs for them in the past (since those would be first-hand "rumors",) or, for all you guys that have a "good working relationship" with park managment and maint. people...

If anyone doesn't want to publically post, please pm me (that's pm, not e-mail.)

Thank you muchos....

I've heard a couple of things, but they don't qualify as screwups.

I believe it's a rumor, so call it that, okay?

I've heard that B&M guarantees the smoothness of their designs, and they guarantee that the 1st train launched from the station after installation will make a flawless complete run, or the park gets the coaster for free.

As I said, call it a rumor, can anyone confirm this?

That is just a rumor. I mean, wouldnt B&M loose alot of money if they gave a free coaster away. Also, some parks could cash in on that and say that it is not smooth and get a free coaster, so more likely, its false.:)

Yea... I'd think that's a bit too much... I read their installation manual, and they give instructions for smoothing the coaster. If there is a "bump" they would blame it on the installers. A fix for that is simple, you just buttress weld the connection joint, grind it smooth and paint.

I had heard (actually, confirmed) about a install problem they had in Flordia, and I was looking to see if it was a common issue they had.... I can't really go into what my issue is though... legal stuff and all....

If that rumour is true I'm getting one for my back garden;) . How hard can it be to make the run flawed:D .

Well, not very, unless the installers at PKD meant to leave a little gap between the track segments on Hypersonic XLC... I looked at it, and saw that right before the brake run hill, there was a 1/2 inch gap betwwen the track pieces joining.... don't know if they fixed that or not by now, but i saw that last year, and XLC has been up for what, 5?

Well Hypersonic isn't a B&M though, it is an S&S air powered coaster.

i realize that, but i was kinda wondeing why the gap was left in the track
