Is there anyone on this board that lives in or near Sandusky, OH? I'm wondering if there is any additional local information on what will be happening with Dragster, considering their incident yesterday. (It wasn't really an accident -- it was more of a malfunction, so I don't know what word to use other than "incident.")

In addition to replacing the cable, I'm guessing that Cedar Point will want to make some other modifications to protect against any more injuries like those from yesterday. (Fortunately, it sounds like the injuries were fairly mild, but they should still be avoided.)

I'm not from Sandusky or anything, the closest I've ever lived to Sandusky was in Columbus. But I did find some dirt on this situation on Screamscape (http://www.screamscape.com) . They had information from this article (http://www.newsnet5.com/entertainment/3523436/detail.html) . I'm not sure if you already had this information but I thought I would post it here anyways since even people who live in Sandusky probably don't know too much more than what is in that article.

I am from Toledo and was at Cedar Point the night it happend..anyhow I posted this somewhere else, but Ill answer it here too...

"I was there the day this happend...First of..this same cable that *Freyed* was just loose a month ago. Second of all Cedar Point refused to pay for a hospital visit and would not call an ambulance. They were given tetnus shots at Cedar Point. One kid has metal in his chest and went to the hospital on his own, along with one other person.

Now here is the part that ticks me off!! Cedar Point gives these 4 people *coupons* that say....* sorry for your inconvience, use these to get to the front of the line on your next ride on Top Thrill* To me that is a huge slap in the face. They should of got, their money back for the day, or even free season passes for the next year. I am so disappointed in how my home park treats people.

Cedar Point is well aware of all the problems they have had with this thing. I know its a prototype, but keep in mind...they have already had two cables that went bad. Think about this...the cables keep going bad and this coaster barely runs 3 hours a day? There is not much wear and tear!! Second of all, they big decoration wheels fell off and flew into another coaster..it constantly has roll backs, and they had to take all the decorations off that made it look like dragster cars...and now they run the trains with the back 6 seats empty...in my opinion, this coaster and Mean Streak should both join a big huge bon fire!"

They ordered a new cable from Intamin...but keep in mind..this cable barely got any use...so whats going to go wrong next? Yes its a prototype hydraulic launch...but still if the thing got tons of use..I could see things going wrong with it..but this coaster hardly ever runs!!

They are probably going to sue the company. That is what insurance is for. Yeah it sucks. But they are going to get tons of money, most likely. That might be enough for season passes for life.
