I wish I could get in accidents like these in Driv3r:

I wish road objects could do that in D3. Too bad its not real-time damage.

lmfao, that pic is hilarious.

I was really looking forward to real time-damage too. After reading that you can wrap your car around poles and trees I was really excited. And what happened to destructable interiors? Do you think if Atari didn't rush Driv3r, that Reflections could have done some of these things(besides real-time damage)?

I doubt it. First off I heard they looked into real time damage but the current technology can't handle it. It would've been nice if they said in the previews we might have real-time damage, or not mention it at all. I think Reflections would still make the claim that the interiors are destructible just because some objects can be broken or tossed around with gunfire. Quite cheap. I didn't think Reflections was a cheap shot company like that, who says something and then when the game comes out, doesn't bother to tell us they went back on it. But then again, I was thinking Reflections just doesn't get it anymore, that people want interactive stuff in the city besides cars.
The car parts are fun, but it gets old after a while. The AI is too dumb for me to bother getting out of the car and having a fire fight. It would've been nice to have some 2 player modes even if they couldn't get TAR to run 2P.

Yeah, I heard that the current consoles couldn't handle it, but it would've been cool if they could. But they should have added some kind of 2 player modes like quick getaway or quick chase. They could have just made the maps smaller in 2 player but I still think Driv3r is fun. I agree with you about the AI, it sucks. I was expecting good shootouts and at least standoffs. I don't know if these were rumours or another thing Relflections made up. Hopefully they will be in Driver 4, if there is one.

What's wrong with the interiors?... there are tons of things that you'd never expect a developer to make destructable. Almost every object in every location is blow up-able. At one of the safehouses in Nice, there's a glass case with an owl in it. The glass breaks, the owl can be blown apart, etc...
When Martin Edmondson said "everything is destructable" and they only left out one thing (the building itself) I wouldn't call that cheap.

In an interview with Martin Edmondson(I think it was him)he said that "you can get two mac-10's and make a plaster's nightmare." That's what I meant, you can't destroy the walls.
Yeah and I agree there are a lot of destructable objects. In the hotel in Nice go to the bathroom and look in the toilet, you'll find that someone forgot to flush the toilet:weird:

Heh... you can't even duel-wield Mac-10's in Driv3r. Now THAT would be awesome! *waiting in anticipation of SA* Duel-wielding Uzi's!!! YES!!!

Yeah, its not even funny how much better SA is gonna be. Well, it is kinda, lol.
Well, with the current game if they added dual weapons it still wouldn't have made it much better. They should've made a 2P deathmatch mode like Halo.

True. Or, just put the 2p mini-games from Driver 2 in, but in a limited section of the city.

They could have an area closed off, like a warehouse place, with the fenced closed around it (only the fence wouldn't completely close it in TAR mode 1P) and there would be some vehicles in there, like Halo, only without guns on them (you couldn't drive and shoot in Halo anyway, but in 2P mode for D3 they should let you shoot while driving), plus you can get out and shoot too.
Its just none of the locations had all that much detail too them. Imagine if there was a 2P deathmatch area in the Miami mall? Theres not much to hide behind, also they should put a vehicle or two in the mall.
In D4 they need to open up all the small stores so we can go inside, and they need detailed interiors so we can hide behind storage racks and stuff.

Though it is a racing game, BurnOut 1-3 (especially the third title) has what appears to be real-time destructibility. You car takes some massive damage in crashes, more so than DRIV3R or any GTA game, and it looks damn real too. If the creators of the BurnOut series would do a DRIV3R type of game, the wrecks alone would be fantastic.

WTF??!! :weird: I was the FIRST person on this forum to say that! So how could you say that I don't know the difference? I was reffering to a screenshot I saw from SA of CJ(the main character) holding two Uzi's while running from a police helicopter at night. If you don't believe that I was the first to make the distinction between an Uzi and a Mac-10, check this link to the post where I said it:http://www.ataricommunity.com/forums/showthread.php?threadid=400560
Scroll down a bit, my post was under the name "albrozdude".;)

What part of that didn't you understand, its very clear he's waiting for dual uzi's in SA.
I didn't know there was a difference between uzi and MAC10, but then again, I'm not a red neck, so theres my excuse.

Matt_jon, you callin' me a redneck? Just to let you know, not just rednecks know stuff about weapons... my dad is from New Jersey, and he bought all the guns he has their, or in California, where I was born. I live in Missouri now, which is a true redneck hole, and the weapons shops and ranges are in even shorter supply here.

Rednecks wouldn't know too much about guns. They may have a shotgun to shoot at squirrels and rodents, but I don't think they would know much about UZIs or MAC-10s.
