It looks like it could be good, but Half Life 2 looks better to me. Even though my computer is actually near the requirements for HL2 (just a little bit lower in the Hz, I was shocked they got it to run so good on a PC near my level, but then again, its about time these damn PC developers use the power they're given like GT4 does, even though GT4 is better comparitively because of the technology they can get it to run on, I think.) I doubt it will run good anyway, since Far Crys demo didn't. Doom 3 looks kinda good, I don't know, it looks a little weird for me.

I own the game, and my settings are on high, if i put it on ultra, it goes for good 4 seconds, and then lags ass off. And yes, it is awesome, the best game out right now.

I'm so pissed right now, I went to go get Doom 3 and looked at the requirements; I meet all of them except 1 major one. I have Win ME. Damnit I don't have an Xbox either damn microsoft and their greedy not sharing with PS2 and Win ME ways.

Doom 3 is awsome, the graphics freakin rock but the gameplay is tired and old. Theres really nothing about the gameplay. Half life 2 will be even way better.

Half-Life 2 will be way better because it has a more involving story, expansive worlds and cools characters. I still love the original and it's side story addons like "Blue Shift" and "Opposing Force". I've seen the two downloadable movies showing the gameplay in action and it is mind-boggling. DOOM 3 is awesome graphically, but it's just retreading tired ground. How many times does the main character have to take out the demon hordes before the problem is finished? After three games, you'd think the situation would have been resolved. Oops, their back again, now upgraded to look fantastically hideous.
Time to destroy them once more and hope they don't return. Though you can beat a sequel is in the works.

Well, I was thinking about it, and I'm gonna wait for PS3 for HL2 I think, because I don't really like using the mouse and keyboard, its not as natural feeling as a controller. I might go get the first Half Life for PS2, or PC since I can run it. It'll be a waste of money getting HL2 for PC and finding out you can't run the graphics the way you've seen them in screenshots for years, so I'll just wait 2 more years, cause PS3 will be better than modern high end PC's, plus it'll have a controller that is supposed to work with the game.

Definitely pick up the "Game of the Year" edition of Half-Life, Matt. It's well worth it and very fun. The PS2 edition is exactly like the PC game, except you can't add extra levels, weapons and characters to it. I have both versions. What's great about the PC edition is that you get "Blue Shift" and "Opposing Force" in the set as well, which are excellent. In "Blue Shift", you play through the events of the first game as Barney the Security Officer as he experiences what went wrong and saves the day in his own way. In "Opposing Force", you play as one of the commandos that comes in to isolate and annihilate the alien force let loose during the events of the first game and "Blue Shift", but your character quickly figures out that he needs to be helping the scientists and not his own commandos because they are killing everyone needlessly. The Half-Life series will always be a game to play around in even if the graphics get a bit dated, not much yet though.

PS3 really needs to look at the mod community. They should have add-ons like a keyboard and mouse and a windows-like program or something that lets you look at the games source if you can crack it, so people can make mods for the games (for some games these are the best things about them) and put them online so you can dl to the hard drive. Plus then I can still use an easy to use controller.
