I know this is old stuff, but I'm helping a friend on his kids pc and I installed UT GOTY and there is a 32mb NVidia Riva TNT2 model 64 card in the pc.it won't play right in Direct3D but it plays ok in software rendering , and I think I remember from a long time ago it has something to do with direct draw? or what is it?
how do I get it to play in Direct3D ? or should I be using openGL ?

win2k pro sp4
NVidia 6177 drivers
no Logitech hardware

sorry if this is a repost. :)

Does he have Nvidia's older Detonator drivers installed? Try running the game in OpenGL, a lot of people prefer that to D3D.

it won't run in openGL either, and I got the latest NVidia 6.1.7.7. drivers from the NVidia site. :)

Okay but the TNT is an old card. So it's better to use older drivers. Go to www.guru3d.com and try the Detonator 23.11's.

I would use the 3-series Detonator drivers with that card. It should work fine, but make sure you completely remove all previous versions of the drivers. Not doing so is the cause of most problems.
