I dont know if atari or DIMPS actually read these boards for ideas, but if so, I've got a good one, and if asked, can go into amazing detail.
I have been writing game scripts and making pathetic quality games on RPG Maker, but I've got so many ideas that are bound to sell. When I first watched DBZ, I had an idea right away of how to make the perfect DBZ game. The one that gamers would love to play.
DIMPS/ATARI came semi-close with the Legacy of Goku games. The concept is a free roaming DBZ game. The PS2 is the perfect platform for such a game. It should be a basic third person 3d game with a camera behind the character. When engaged in a combat, there are two ways to do this depending on the number of enemies. If there is one enemy, the camera moves to the side so that it becomes a classic fighting game built into a 3d environment. When facing two or more, the game is a 3rd person adventure game.
Moving between towns and locations should work as so:
When in the town, you can still fly. If you fly to a certain limit (should be pretty high) you will leave the map and move into a world map. You CANNOT leave the map while in battle, and during missions. Once on the world map, you fly around and lower down onto a city, and you will then be floating in the sky above the city ready to land and explore.
For more info and/or detail, (I even have keys on the controller layed out for how this game would feel most natural) just contact me at chapmanbobby@gmail.com. This info is for public and corperate use.
ATARI/DIMPS, and all subsidiaries are welcome to use this info. I sent in a very similar idea to ACTIVISION for a free roaming SPIDERMAN game, and now we have Spiderman 2. I had detailed almost every feature in the game except for the random pedestrian thing, and I know this would sell as a DBZ game. Give it a shot, look at your sales for Legacy of Goku, and invest your time and energy into this. It will sell.

PS: Sorry I wrote so much, but you should see the ideas pages I wrote.

We need custom made characters like our selfs.

eh... I think sticking to the story of DBZ using their characters would be best. Maybe a spin off game where you live on Planet Vegeta and there are a bunch of Saiyans.

I just wish that they give Future Trunks USSJ,USSJ2 and his saiyan armor instead of SSJ2 like what happened in Budokai 2

there have been a million and one "ive got the best idea for a dbz game" threads, and none of them have been replied to by anyone important enough to care. if you think you've come up with something original and groundbreaking, chances are that someone here at some point has already. truth be told, most of us here could create a better dbz game than dimps/atari if we had the chance. sadly, however, we wont. the worst part is that they cant take any of our ideas in an official capacity because they could then be sued for stealing ideas by the person/people who offered them to begin with. in all honesty, it seems like theyve found a game formula theyre comfortable with, and they add one or two new things in each sequel, just enough so that you have to buy it again. if they were REALLY smart, they would recreate the game from the ground up, starting with the fighting engine, and give it some DOA/Virtua Fighter replayability. adding a few new cut-scenes where you press a random button isnt revolutionizing the fighting...hahaha "saiyan overdrive" BAH

Ideas That Will Create The BEST Dragonball Z game and The Best Game Period!!!! ( Not pointless suggestions, please read!!!!)

Dear Listener,
My name is Justin Foster.I know how much Atari values customer opinion and fan suggestions.
Akira Toriyama is the most creative mind in anime but in the dragoball z games that creativity dosent show.
I've played almost all the dragonball z games and they were good but they all lacked that true dragonball z feel of the cartoon. For instance, the dragonball series was not all fighting. The characters hung out with one another and trained. So the other day I was discussing the upcoming dragonball z budokai tenkaichi 2 with my friend Dan Cox and he started to bring up things he hoped the game should include. Then it hit us, why don't we come up with concepts for dragonball z game improvements, but these ideas I'm about to disclose are far more than fan talk. They are honestly genuine thoughts that could make the best dragonball z game and the best game period! To get to the point, imagine a dragonball z game that intergrated every element from the cartoon, such as: human reactions to the Z fighters and the villians, a mode where you could just explore and interact in the entire dragonball series universe; from scarying civilians to blowing up buildings even as far as traveling in the space ship. Of course the fighting would also have to be improved. In the cartoon and in the manga..their were attacks for every realistic position and fighters went up against more opponents then just one. The fighting engine could have the freestyle control of Rise to Honor with the faced paced action of the cartoon..For example: if you are below a hovering opponent you would uppercut, you shouldn't have to fly right in front of them to attack, the same thing as if they were behind you, you would backfist or back-kick.Also, if say Goku was fighting a group of saibamen, he could deal multiple blows to each one in accordance to direction and distance, he shouldn't have to finish one then move on to the other. To go even further their would be reaction events to make the game lots more fun.I think everyone could imagine Broly lifting up a buliding and hurling it towards his opponent while the people within the building are screaming for their lives. Now lets say Brolys opponent is Goku, the game would pause and a rescue mission would appear on-screen saying you have 5 seconds to rescue everyone in the building. You would have to tap the X button as fast as you can in that 5 seconds to complete the mission.During this Broly would still be hunched from the throw. This concept could be altered in a variety of ways.Fights should be able to be taken high into the sky above the clouds without flying time or limitations to the border of the atmosphere. Also if you can power up why not power down. The radar would be based on sight and power level detection like a sense of awareness.Pushing it even further, why not be able to knock someone in a building and then fight within it causing more destruction?! teleportation would be freely controlled but limited by ki to maintain fairness and balance. You should even be able to throw objects such as cars phsically and telepathically.Furthermore, powered up characters would do more damage and be affected less by lower level characters. Now on to effects. If I blast at water I expect it to splash everywhere.A building would blow up, a street would be destroyed and so on, thus constantly changing the surroundings.WHAT ARE THE LIMITS?!!!Characters would also have more interactive taunts that relate to the opponent.Frieza would call Vegeta a monkey and Zarbon would call Krillin Vegetas bald companion. Two characters that have no relation would interact according to power levels, like Broly calling krillin pathetic or a waste of time and krillin cowaring in fear. Taunts as well as conditions during battle would affect characters feelings as they become frustrated and angry or happy and careless. These emotions would trigger raises in power levels and shifts in the tide of batlle. This game is highly possible on the PS2 and definently on the PS3.Can you grasp the fun factor on this game! Now I'll quickly overview some ideas for story mode. The story like Dragonball Z Budokai Tenkaichi 2, should span from Dragonball to Dragonball GT but should be compiled of three disks, one for each saga so that every part would be exact to the cartoon. The characters would have moves that they would have at that point in the story this includes super saiyan levels and power levels. Plainly put it would be an RPG Universe where you could roam the world freely, travel between worlds and even do side quests. Again Akira Toriyama is the most creative mind in anime but in the dragoball z games that creativity dosent show. This is just a brief overview of some ideas we thought up we have many others that we would like to discuss if you all are willing to listen. Honestly I just want to see and play a dragonball z game that feels like Dragonball Z and I know it would be by far the best game not just a fighting game but the best game ever. Please return response to this at thesewarmnuts@yahoo.com or Nostradamusfallingbird@yahoo.com. I greatly appreciate the support. We must see the ultimate Dragonball Z Game!!!!!!!!!

what we need is a customization shop1 where you can buy items that they can actually wear during battle (ex. goku can buy his power pole and wear it attached to his back) just like tekken 5 and DR has customization items

eventually next gen consoles theyll b able to put every character in the game
wat would b coo lis to play through movies. Such as movie 12 play around in the beggining when janemba is released then play on earth (kill all the old villains) then to end the level beat janemba. They should have a game mode of movies where u play through them (like the movie 12 example) nd have levels. Not just you win this fight you go to another and characters should have more attacks. Side quests to recieve dragonballs or having to fight someone or solve a puzzle (like goku had to do) in game they should have somethnig that once you go back to the level nd ur at a certain level for ur character (say gokue level 22 on Dbz Frieza sage level 10. Confsuing but continuing once far in the game go back to an old level nd have instant-death moves
