budokia's story mode

hey everyone does any one know what the story mode is for budokia 3 because i thought that budokia one had a great story mode but the second one did not so if you can help me that would be great thx.

well this time they're calling it Dragon Universe and it's supposed to be some kind of free roaming ish kind of game... guess you'll just have to wait and see bud.:downcast:

I've read somewhere that in dragonuniverse you can play the story of every character in the game. I don't no if it's true

You can only play like 11 of the characters, so it's not 100% true.. which kind of sucks, but at the same time what're you gonna do as Buu or Cell you know? they kinda have no back story, not like the rest do, but yeah it's a little more limited than what you heard.

I found this out by going here. (http://www.gamespot.com/ps2/action/dragonballzbudokai3/index.html?tag=mp_2to9) You'll then find a video preview, if you watch that then you'll find the answer.;)

Every character that you unlock will be selecteble so every character in the game has it's own story

i just hope that by playing through the story mode you can get a the chosen characters breakthrough. so if i play through as goku i get gokus break through, same for vegeta and trunks etc.

That'd be damn cool, and it would eliminate the need to GATHER THE DRAGON BALLS all together.

Or even if they did it like in Dragonworld of the second game where you had to gather the dragon balls to wish for break throughs all the same, at the end of everything as it's all said and done you'll still get everyone's break throughs if you play it through for each and every character... that'd be sweet, I hope they do it like that, because then that just means you need to explore more and try even harder still, which would just rock! :up:

I gotta say, they might have done a perfect job doing this game... well atleast I hope they did. ;)

i'm kind of excited about the new story mode. all the vids i've seen look cool. it'll be nice to have the freedom to go wherever you feel. don't feel like fighting buu right now? ok, go somewhere else.

fly slower, and find secrets that you miss while flying fast. sounds labor intensive, and time consuming.

and i read that there are only 11 characters for the story. that was from a site that reviewed the game recently, and judged the gameplay and everything. it's on dranet.

Nope Dranet is wrong about that... I posted a link earlier on this thread that goes to a video of the people who made the game, who they themselves say it's an option viable for all of the selectable Characters...

ofcourse your definition of selectable characters is prolly as good as mine, but lets not limit it to 11 chars until you've seen the vid.;)

"...Goku, young Gohan, adolescent Gohan, adult Gohan, Piccolo, Vegetates, Krilin, Tenshinhan, Yamcha and Ub" are the ones listed by meristation

that's 10. and a video on playfrance.com shows 9, minus uub.

but i got to thinking... if you can only play dragon universe with 11 characters, how do you make custom characters of the other remaining 32? doesn't make sense unless you are able to get experience points for the rest of the characters.

but if this is the case, that's a pretty big fact to leave out of all these reviews that are being written, and posted. they would say, plain and simple, that you can be ALL the characters in dragon universe. wouldn't they?

as i've said on another thread... proof is everything...

can we have a link/site to confirm your claim? i guess broly's story mode would be pretty easy to do... he just flies around looking to kill goku, and probably kills anyone else who gets in his way, but there was an article from meristation claiming that the story mode covered the dbz episodes, and the movie characters were hidden capsules in the dragon universe.

having a movie character in story mode contradicts that...

so, again, where is your proof?

dranet wouldn't have 2 wrong articles on reviews of the game...

they were written after testing the game, so somebody saw this first hand, and then wrote about it.

playfrance claims 11 chars, meristation has a list of 10 names, so it could be that meristation didn't complete enough of the game to unlock the 11th...
