View Full Version : Why no WW2 multiplayer mode?

A ww2 multiplayer mode would of been great, even if it were just for lan... why was this left out is beyond me.

I can think of a reason why it was left out of multiplayer.

Could you imagine, being in a 5 player game, where each rts battle can take up to 2 hours (and only 2 of the 5 people can play), combine that with 50 rts battles or so for an entire game of world war, and yeah, I can see why they didn't include it.

I'm curious. What is a "ww2 multiplayer mode"?
I had assumed that ww2 meant world war 2
but after reading the original post and the reply, I'm not so sure.

The only way this game could be multi-player in WWII mode is if the global moves/purchases were done by PBEM(play by email). Then players would schedule meeting dates to resolve online RTS battles where both have forces in same territory. So as you can see, a full game of WWII mode would take about 2 months to play. Sounds FUN to me, but TG/Atari did NOT !! : (

ok sorry but that didn't answer my question.
let me rephrase it.

you have said that it is not possible to play multiplayer in this game in world war 2 mode.
then if you are in multiplayer mode, then what are you in? world war 3 mode? dumb question I know, but I ask because I thought this was a world war 2 real time simulation game. and you say that you can't be in world war 2 mode. so what mode are you in, in multiplayer?

WW2 mode is where you conquer world territories, rather than just fighting .

World War 2 is a game mode. In the main menu you would select World War 2, this takes you to a board game style game. In multiplayer, you are playing with "world war 2" units, but it is the RTS without the board game style.

2 player ww2 would still be way more fun than 1 player and then each player would be involved in all the battles.

it just kinda sux that you can`t play the game online.ther are tons of rts online,it would be neat if the WWll mode played online.i realize it would take a very long time ,but the board game was not exactly something you could in 5 minutes either.oh yea did i mention ....WHERE IS THE NAVY?????
