For those people who know I am working on "AsTro WorLD" and I decided to make "Worlds of Fun", since this park is close to me in real life and I would like to recreate the park on RCT3. There for i will be making this park as well, while i am still working on "AsTro WorLD".
There will be 3 versions of this park.
One with Orient Express which was taken down for reason I hate to know.------man I love that ride......
The other one will be with "Spinning Dragons" which replace The Orient Express...........man this ride is boring
The last version is the "Zambezi Zinger" Which was a really fun roller coaster back then but was taken out and been replace by the Boomerang
Here are 2 sites of this park
1. The main site (http://www.worldsoffun.com/)
2.Another Good Site (http://www.worldsoffun.org/) -good for history.

Looks great! The OE was my fave coaster in WoF, I'm so sad that it's gone. :( I love the idea of keeping it alive via RCT!
I'll include some links to pics of the real OE. I couldn't find one with the total layout, however...

(Update:11/9/04)
Ok here's what I am talking about 3 versions of this park.
-Zambezi Zinger-
This version is when WoF around 1996 before they took out the Zinger. Yes this version does include the Orient Express because it was still there durning 1996.
Rides or you won't see is
Mamba- 205ft hyper coaster
Grand Prix Raceway- go karts
Boomerang - Corkscrew coaster
Thunder Hawk - Top Spin
Spinning Dragons - Spinning Wild Mouse coaster
-Orient Express-
Takes place around 2003 before it was removed, this version does include Grand Prix, Mamba, Boomerang, Thunder hawk.
Rides you won't see
Zambezi Zinger - spiral coaster
Omegatron - Swinging ship inverted
The Plunge - Dingy water ride
-Spinning Dragons-
Takes Place 2004, includes rides--->Grand Prix, Mamba, Boomerang, Thunder hawk
Rides you won't see
Zambezi Zinger
Omegatron
The Plunge
Orient Express
Now I didn't include all the rides on this list but don't worry they will be all there for you to enjoy. I only listed the rides they add & removed in between those 3 time lines.....
I hope that helps

Wow... That is, by far, the best rendition of the OE I have ever seen in any designer. And that includes the coaster only programs such as No Limits, etc!
Since you're doing such a wonderful job so far, how about moving the timeline back for the Zambezi Zinger period to the heyday of WoF - when the Screamroller was converted into the very first stand up coaster in the world (or was it just North America)? I'd LOVE to ride the Screamroller again, even if its fairly boring by todays standards... The Zinger was still one of the best rides in the park at the time (circa 80-82 ish) as the Timber Wolf hadn't replaced the Screamroller yet (can't remember when the safety "issues" turned the SR back to a sit down ride, but it closed shortly after). The OE *was* just built during that period as well, so it'd be in the park too.
Regardless, looking very much forward to the parks (and registered here just to say so ;)).

I live in Independence, so I've been to WoF several times. I never had the opportunity to ride the Orient Express, though.
Good job on the recreation! Although I never rode the coaster, I can tell by sight that you've done a good job emulating it. I can't wait to see more of the park done! I was so thrilled when I found out that many of the new flatrides in RCT3 were rides that could be used in a WoF recreation.
Good job so far, and I can't wait to see more!

LOL, I did the same thing. Can't wait to see them. That would be cool to have the ScreamRoller in there too I still remember that ride. It was the first to scare the hell out of me as a little kid. After my first time riding the OE I got in trouble because it was the first time my parents heard me cuss,LMAO good times

Yes, you absolutely have my vote to do so. That period was the golden age of WoF in many opinions (including mine ;)) as the Orient was brand new and scary as hell, the Screamroller had just taken WoF into the record books, the Zinger was still a highlight of the park, the Zulu was newish and the Ski-Hi's were still available (among many other attractions). Only thing missing in those days was a great woodie, as the Wolf hadn't been built yet.

I can just imagine :p .
The first year the Orient opened I was 14 and had already had season passes to WoF for a few years... WoF was KC's "IT" place for the teen crowd back then as the short lived "Disco" used to draw thousands every friday and saturday night (didn't actually play a lot of disco, thankfully!). The Disco used to be right up the path from the Screamroller and just down the path from the Incred-o-Dome (which was also pretty newish and great to cool down in on hot summer days as it was one of the few air conditioned areas in the whole park). My older sister and I were both lucky enough to ride the very first public ride on the Orient the day the park opened... She had to talk me in to it for weeks before hand as it was the first adult coaster I'd ever ridden! Man, was that ride the scariest of my life (as most know, the Orient wasn't exactly a "smooth" ride either)! I must have ridden the Orient a few thousand times over the next decade before I moved away from KC, and now enjoy vacations to ride coasters from coast to coast every other year or so. All thanks to the Orient Express, the Screamroller, (my sister) and WoF!
Indeed, those were some extremely fun years - great to think about them again. :D

Didn't they rename the Steamroller to EXT once it became a stand-up coaster?
The Orient Express was the very first ride I went on the very first time I went to an amusement park. A part of my history is so much dust in the wind now. I was hoping to do the same thing for my boy when he becomes "of age."
That is truly sad.

Nice work, AsTroWorLD. I haven't gotten my copy of RTC 3 yet, but I did work at WOF for several years. You recreation of the Orient Express is so true to the original that I almost feel like I'm on it again. It looks like RTC3 has some awesome features.
I haven't played with the RTC3 coaster editor yet, so I don't know what kind of constraints you had to work with. The only part of your version of the Orient Express that I would change is the section between the two loops. In real life this part of the ride had a block brake section that was more parallel to the lift hill. An entire train could stop there if needed. I haven't been to WOF since 1987, but I've heard about the accidents. I rode the Orient Express every morning for a year as a test rider. My sister worked the OE and had been trained to drive it.
Incidentally, on one cold April morning, circa 1985 or 1986, they gambled on our test run making to through the ride. It was so cold out that we only made it through the first loop. We didn't even make the flat section block. Our train went backwards and forwards for a few minutes. We got to eventually climb out and descend the vertical ladder to the ground.
The summer that I test rode OE and the Zambezi Zinger every morning I was stationed full time at Voyager. I later managed that ride a few times. Your recreation of Voyager is pretty close to the real one too. Nice work.
The Screamroller was the EXT for a while until they switched it back to the Screamroller with the original trains. I got a chance to drive the Screamroller after they changed it back. The EXT was truly a dumb idea by WOF. A really cheap shot at creating a new ride without bothering to do it right.
If you have any questions about WOF rides during the 80s, I'm available. One of these days I'll get me a copy of RTC 3 and give your rides a shot.

Thanks for pointing out somethings needed to be change, although I have already tried it which didn't work out to well since this coaster editor isn't like No Limits or something, but I got it very close to the real deal, plus I do have a block brake there too. other than they it is very close to the real deal.
Now that OE test ride story u told me, I would say that is scary and I would be like "What the heck!" but at least no one didn't get hurt. hehe darn gravity.
I never rode Scream Roller or EXT because I was too young, but I know y they got rid of the EXT train cars because the cars put alot of stress on the tracks, so they wanted to change it back.
I been to WoF many times and I do remember most of the park, even the land itself. but anyways I will ask somethings when I need to.
Thx for your comments everyone.

Well guys don't you worry about this park.. I am still working on it, but I ran into problems, like a missing DLL file while running XP and then reformatted, and after that reintalled game and try to extract my WoF file out of my disc and that file was bad and didn't work.
So therfore I am going to rework on it......
This park is being made kinda slow because of my main park called AsTro WorLD.
But don't worry I love WoF and I am still working on the park.

I havent been never to Worlds of Fun (beacuse I live in Spain but by your recreation and the two webpages I visited, it looks an awesome park. I have also seen the comercials and there are fantastic (hope to have some tv commercials of spanish parks here some day).
The bad thing is that your archieves have gone however I think you will do a good job recreating them again (your timeline idea is fantastic). I also like a lot your other park AsTroWorLD. I will add Worlds of Fun to my Park list because it seems a very good park.

Holy cow! That is so freaking awesome! What a wonderful job you've done!
It's too bad RCT3 doesn't have custom supports. It just ain't the true Mamba without that awesome head-chopper effect on the helix.
But, oh well, you did FANTASTIC with what you've got. I'm so anxious to see more of the park!

PS: Will you be creating a video for this park once it is done? I don't yet have RCT3 (can't afford a good graphics card yet), but I really would love to see the park in "real-time."

WOW! Mamba looks exactly like the real thing!
Great recreation!
Also, the station is probably better because you don't hear "Hold on tight because Mamba is about to strike."
Whoever has sat in that line probably knows what I mean.

HAHAHA! I do indeed!
I swear, I've practically memorized that entire spiel.... I try to go on Mamba at least 4 times every time I go to WoF, so I've heard that station recording FAR too many times! :)

I ran into a small problem, It is the shape and size of the park, it is all wrong and too small which makes the park looks weird, So I am going to start from the entrance to Mamba. Kinda makes me mad when something like this has to come up, but oh well it happens and Worlds of Fun is in a funny shape.
I will show you what I got done later.

Yeah it does get annoying after a while if you work there, I know how that is.......I use to work at AMC and the trailers or adds, they get annoying after a while.........oh I remember the Fanta add, man that was annoying!!!!
anyways I am almost done with Orient Express I should show you that soon.

Oh, they *still* play that Fanta ad on particular screens at AMC! The most annoying thing to me was when I waited 9 hours in line for Star Wars: The Phantom Menace in 1999; Movietunes probably played just about 9 times (or more), and that stupid song "No Scrubs" was on the playlist... Talk about making you tear out your hair!
Can't wait to see more screencaps of the park! It's okay if the shape is a little off. It's kinda hard to do exact recreations with the grid system (especially with the paths and buildings...).

Been watching this for a little while, and I just had to tell you that Mamba looks wonderful. I used to do WoF ride recreations on RCT2, I was quite proud of my Mamba, but I love yours. The themeing you have around OE is great too, I miss that coaster...
Anyway, I cannot wait to see more from you, I love it. Keep it up! :D
