Lost River Delta constructions shots below. Enjoy. The story behind this area goes like this. A recently discovered and unearthed temple has been discovered in this remote and uncharted land. Word and greed spread quickly and treasure seekers came from far and wide and built a quirky, make-shift village on the banks of Lost River. The Temple of Doom will be located in this "land" and is a roller coaster type E ticket attraction. I will have sceenshots soon.

By far the best looking park I have seen...PERIOD.

What is your secret behind lighting? You seem to light areas but you can't actually see the lamp you have placed. For example, you light the Lost River Delta inside the buildings, but I actually don't see any lights in the screenshot. How did you do that?

Again, outstanding work. I can't wait, if you can do it, for videos! :D

Just like you said. I put lights inside buildings. Not too many though, or you ruin the effect.
Maybe I can make a short video that doesn't take too long to upload. Maybe I will get cable before Christmas.

I used tons of glass in Paradise Pier's design and notice some lag in this area. After reading about glass walls causing lag I thought I would experiment and reskin my buildings. Riding rides at night is where it got kinda bad so I figured it was worth the time to do a new overlay and use glass sparingly. OMG!
What a huge difference. I am really happy with the results.
My game performs very well now.

Agree about the lighting, especially in those shots earlier up (or is that down?) the thread. The real parks (and real architects) could learn a lot from your creative use of lighting. You may be in the wrong job mate (unless you actually are an architect/ ride designer or aren't of working age).

Great to see someone making such an effort on the actual look of the design. Being a creative type I really appreciate anyone's efforts to create beauty and some of yours are gorge.

There are a lot of high quality parks on this site, but this is the best I've seen. Being slightly arrogant when it comes to this sort of thing, most of the parks here, even the really good ones, just make me think of how I'd do things differently. But this is truly inspirational, a very believable looking and exceptionally themed park that despite going for realism, or perhaps because of it, is hugely dramatic. I particularly like the splash boats and indiana jones ride town place (I'm sure it has a more catchy name), it looks completely coherant and yet utterly disorganised, ramshakle without ever breaking theme. Fantastic work!

Sorry for no updates people. It's Thanksgiving holiday and being that I live in Las Vegas and my family is up from California, well, you know. I am super busy! I was a tour guide yesterday and today I am cooking Thanksgiving dinner for the first time. Ha!
I should have an update on Sunday.
Happy Thanksgiving!

P.S.

Also, if you are coming to Las Vegas soon, be sure to check out Belagio's botanical gardens. That blew me away.

My dear sir,

I am getting very sick of your cavalier attitude towards other people. For one thing, you do not give credit where credit is do. What you see in this thread is some of the most spectacular work you will ever see, doubtless much better than anything that will come from you. Secondly, if you have a problem with my signature, which is more of a one-to-one thing, not a thing that must be broadcasted to the entire site, please tell me via a PM. However, since you do not see fit to do so, you have forced me to bring this issue out in public. There was no reasont that this couldn't have been taken care of on another level. And also, why choose to single me out? What follows is a list of those members (that I found in a five minute search) who have more than 5 lines in their siggies:

omgukk
sevey13
XopePoquar
belloman
AsTroWorLD

I guess I can join the club now. What club is that you ask? The dreaded LAG club. Man this is disappointing. It is really bad when riding rides and night mode. I guess we are only allowed to build mediocre parks. I won't even bother producing my specs because I know my computer is top notch. I just love how I get on my wild mouse coaster and get ZERO fps. I could really give a rats azz about tunnels. Performance issues better be priorty #1 in this new patch. Crying now.

It's a shame - that happened to me weeks ago so I decided to split the park up and release segments which is not the same. And I fully agree with the FPS being a priority over frigging tunnels. All these parks in the works are going to face the same problem when they get to a certain point.

Your Park is very impressive. The Photos you summit are well done.

It is a shame about your lag problem, we all know how it feels to build a large park then suffer the FPS freezees. I have them with the game paused and no people in the park. I really miss those crazy little people. : (

Let hope that the fine folks a Frontier can come up with a solution soon.

Will you post this Inspirational park when it done?

I sure hope you will.

Thankyou all for your comments. I will continue with this park. I hope the new patch helps. David B. made a comment about overlapping tracks causing slowdown? If this is the case, it would explain alot. I have quite a few overlapping tracks. Don't most woodies do this any way? They weave in and out of themselves. That's what makes woodies seem so out of control and dangerous. They should have listed all these limits on the outside of the box. Don't use too much scenery, don't overlap tracks, don't let too many peeps into your park, don't build your park too big and on and on. With this kind of thinking and pre set conditions, in real life, Disneyland never would have been built.
I hate being negative about this, but something is out of wack and it is not my computer. I even took my computer into my local shop for a diagnostics. My baby is fine. In fact, my parks lag on their top of the line computers. 3 units to be exact.

I cant standit when it take 10 minuttess to put in a single lift hill thherfore i will post my solutions to boost pwerformance speed up slitely
1st set peep detail level on low they act the same wy have the computer spend time on it

2nd no refction on water it drops performance a lot

3rd set detail lecvals to medium if on hi

4th try ro avoid nitetime with all the lites it will just slow it down

whith theese you can get a bsasic idea of what the park will look like while in construction and after youve finished or want to take screennshots put settings back to how they were

I use this and I no longer have much of a problem
it has a substantial effect on performancne

well goodluck

Thanks for all the pointers rushfan. I just hate giving up on quality to continue gameplay. It just sucks.

Yeah but the nice thing is you can turn up those details anytime and it will still look great without having to make changes!

exactly my point madmab its kindof like just seeing the frame work with the low graphics an when your done you can put the graphics on high and see all the details
it works for me:)

This blew me away. Best park I've seen. I wish I had the skill, and patience, to produce something like you have done here. The theming is right on, with what looks like piece by piece coloring. Keep it up!. Won't you love it when custom content can be imported ?

I could really give a rats azz about tunnels. Performance issues better be priorty #1 in this new patch. Crying now.

Just post them. If you have an Nvidia card then that may be the answer.

I load it up and it locks up on me immediately. I am afraid there isn't much of a future for this park. Maybe the patch will help, but the more I read, the more I think RCT3 just wasn't designed for this kind of heavy duty scenery use. Maybe I used too many scenery types?

what if you made the sections in seperate sandbox parks could you posibly do that save the coiasters and buildings also I tend to have 2 save files for each park a common use and one I save before every mager themeing or coaster so if my fps drops I can go back and seperate the parks sections into diferent parks then import them all into one. I hope you can continue perhaps another card for the computer to make it faster
best of luck panaramic man,aka circlevission i hope you can do something

Alot of times RCT3 creates backup files of parks you are working on. Did you try loading the backup file?

"pst" "hes right you know" says a mane in the croud wearing a trenchcoat while rushfan talks

"the key to victory over the tyranie of low fps is to make seperate sections in seperate parks only in that is there a spark of hope
it is a tough fight but WE WILL PREVAIL"

"in closing I have this to say Yhe only thing we have to fear is a massive overload on data in a single parks and maybe spiders only the realy big spiders though and fruitcake that stuff is deadly" a brief pause

"beware of fruitcake"
