COASTER CONTTEST!!!!!!!
There is a coaster contest for Six Flags Grand Canyon!!! Anyone can enter. When you are done with the coaster, please post some screenshots and the stats. If possible, please post a video. That would help my deciding of the winner alot. The Coaster must have an excitement rating of 6.0 and intensity/nausea rating can NOT be VERY HIGH or HIGHER. I will decide the winner mainly on the excitement rating, but also the pics! I will post the winner in THIS post! The prize is the winner will get to see all updates early, including screenshots, get to test the park, and might be able to download the park early.

The coaster contest winner will be posted in the form of a movie. There is going to be a larger movie and a smaller movie. The way the judges rated is they rated each coaster entered on a scale of 1 to 10; 1 being bad and 10 being good. These scores will be added up and the winner will be the coaster with the highest total score. In case of a tie, I will see what I rated each coaster and the winner will be the one that I rated higher. If I rated them the same, I will decide on the excitement rating, intensity rating, and nausea rating. When the movie comes out, please do not say who won until I say it is ok. Just say things like "I really liked that coaster..." or "I was suprised the winner...". PLEASE do not give it away. The small movie will be less than 4MB, so hopefully everyone will be able to see the movie with the winner.

Hey I thought I might take a shot at the contest.

I have 2 roller coasters
1. Lay down, with 6 inversions, and a 2 min ride
2. Hyper Coaster, with 205 ft drop, 74 Mph, and 2.30 min ride.

I thought about gving you some new names for your coasters or u can add these to your list if you want to that is.

I wouldn't rip off your head cause I've never been to one either, except for Wyandott Lake (water park), which is part of the Six Flags chain, even though Six Flags hasn't done a thing to it since 1994, when they built Jet Stream. So no, I wouldn't feast on your organs!

Ready for a spook? Well, you can have one year round at Spooky Hallow! Ride Spooky Hallow, The Haunted Mansion or one of the other spooktacular rides!
-Thrill Seekers
This is the place for a thrill! Whether you want to ride SCREAM, Fear Factor, or one of the many thrill rides, it doesnt matter, as long as you get that chill up your spine!
-Mount Fun
This is the place to go if your a little kid and want to have sone fun! They can ride Spongbob Speedway, a mini coaster, or any of the gentle rides. The perfect place for those Gentle Ride lovers!
-Futuretown
Looking forward to the future? Well you don't have to wait! This Sci-Fi themed section has 2 coasters. They are The Final Frontier, a space themed coaster; and Futuretown: The Coaster..
-Hostile Hills
One Roller Coaster is "A Series of Unfortunate Events", named after the popular series, "A Series of Unfortunate Events" by Lemony Snicket (Daniel Handler). Also, it will have the winning coaster from my Coaster Contest.
-Splash Mountain
Are you hot being in the sun all day on the dry rides? Well then come to Splash Mountain! Whether you want to ride The Jet Stream, a pitch black ride; Shark Attack; Zuma Falls, Bumber Boats, or Jet Skis, it doesn't matter!!!
-Food Canyon
This is a place to get all the food. Whether you want a hot dog or lemonade, it has it! Food will also be spread out through the park.

There also is going to be a All Park Monorail, that goes all around the park. It will be called The Blueway Monorail. There will be a station in every section. Each station will be themed according to the section.

If you're used to PKD and BGW then don't bother trying the nearest Six Flags. It would be SF America in and around the DC/Baltimore area. I forget exactly where but it's in there somewhere. Anyway, it's way below the quality you're accustomed to. I went there and it was an absolute disaster. :confused: PKD, BGW, Hershey and Dorney are so much better that it's not even funny to try and compare them to SF. There's a huge difference.

To make the perfect Six Flags park, just take prebuilt roller coasters, level some land, remove the trees, and plop them down. Don't bother with themeing or anything like that and don't forget to slap a Superman, Batman, or other character name on them! Also, if you build a new roller coaster (such as a LIM launched one) make sure it's broken or closed for it's entire first year of operation. Then also don't train your employees and be sure a ride crashes every month. :p

lol. It was just the first name I thought of... I don't have any prebuilt coasters, they are all original (2 from others-Coaster Contest winner and Sidewinder) I've never been to a true Six Flags, but I have been to Wyandot Lake (part of the Six Flags Chain), and there has been 1 new thing since they bought it, Shark Attack.

Sure! The limit is 4, so you can put more than one coaster in the contest. But only one will win.

Tuesday Track Layouts!!!

Every Tuesday, I will release either 1 or 2 layouts of tracks in Six Flags Grand Canyon. It will last for 5 weeks, eventually getting all 8 coasters that are made by me. The other two (coaster contest and Sidewinder by AsTroWorLD) I will not make a layout of.

Because yesterday was Tuesday, yesterdays will be released today. Today's track is SCREAM, a Looping Roller Coaster.

First you go up a lift hill about 110 ft. Then you turn a u-corner, and go down the drop. About halfway down, you go into a double loop. Then you finish the drop till about 5ft. After that you go into a final loop, and then do a little bunny hill, and finish with a u-curve to the station.
The colors are GREEN and BLACK.

The building in the screenshots is the SCREAM station/ hotel. There will be something like this in S.F.G.C.
, only much better looking.

Not to put you down or anything, cause my coaster usually suck (ever had a nausea rating of 10? :D:D) But that SCREAM coaster sounds kinda week. BTW, I plan on putting my coaster in the contest as soon as possible. I don't have any clear pictures yet though. It's currently called Ghost Ride (name change expected) it's a 7/5/4 i think. Pretty good little coaster with 4 loops, at least one corckscrew, and a series of barrel rolls near the end. It has a vertical twisting drop. This is the only picture I have of it right now. This is where I do my pics....
Go to Imageshack (http://www.imageshack.us), its free. All you have to do is register, which is very easy. Then you upload. It'll take you to a screen that has some URLs on it. Copy the URL is that is for Forums and Message Boards. Then all you do is come back to these forums, Reply to topic, and paste! (I sugest that if you have more than one screenshot, have Imageshack in one browser and these forums in another). I hope that helps.

This week’s Tuesday Track Layout.

Today’s Tuesday Track Layout is Fear Factor and Cowboys and Indians.

Fear Factor:
First you shoot out of the station going about 120 mph. You go straight-forward for a bit, and then you rise to a 90 degree angle to around 440ft in the air. Then you curve to the left while going up. Then you smooth out. After smoothing out you turn to the left and keep tuning until you are facing the opposite direction you started from. You go straight down until you start to glide down to a flat around 10 ft. then you do a double bunny hop, go through the breaks, and back to the station.

Cowboys and Indians:
First you go up a nice long lift hill to about 150ft. Then you go curve while going down, and then change to going down steeply. At about 15ft, you flatten out and go into a loop. Then you go into a corkscrew. After the corkscrew you do a large hill. Then you come back down to do a loop. Then there will be a chain lift staying flat as you go through a western town with animatronics and fake shops all around until the station.

Wow cowboys and indians is going to be one intense coaster but sounds great

It has been decided that once I get RCT 3 and I start on Six Flags Grand Canyon (which will be soon after I get RCT 3), every section will have its own day for updates. This will NOT start until Tuesday Track Layouts are over. Tuesday Track Layouts end the week before construction SHOULD start on Six Flags Grand Canyon (the week I SHOULD get RCT 3). That first week will be based on designing the coasters. The second week of construction should be based on finalizing the coasters and starting on the placing of the coasters in the park.

And now for the schedule:

-Western Rodeo Wednesdays
-Hostile Hills Thursday
-Futuretown Friday
-Spooky Hallow Saturday

It’s that time again… update time!
Six Flags Grand Canyon is now in the coaster planning stage. ALL sections planning is complete, and the final park map can be found HERE (http://img114.exs.cx/img114/8766/whole_park_map.jpg).
The coaster building will start in December, the week after the final Tuesday Track Layout. This is when the new update plan comes in. Each section has its own update day, the update days found below:[list=A]

The last time I tried BMP (forgot that Paint automatically saves that way), after I hosted it it came to a prettymuch blank screen other than the things that are at the top of every Imageshack page.

For size issues, lower upload times, lower viewing times, I suggest you change file types of all pics to JPEG before uploading them. Not only does it cut the size down by about 5x but also reduces load times by 5x.

It`s a giga-coaster, which I called "The Big One", mainly because the begining of the coaster reminded me of the big one at blackpool pleasure beach.

I have changed my mind about when the coaster contest will end. Instead of ending December 5 at 7:00pm EST (-5 GMT), It will end December 1, 2004 at 7:00pm EST (-5 GMT). The winner will now be announced December 5, 2004 at 4:00pm EST instead of December 10, 2004 at 4:00pm EST.
So be sure to enter those coasters quickly because there is only a few days left!!!!!!!! Remeber, if you win, your coaster will be used in S.F.G.C. and you will hopefully get the download early, maybe test the park, and definately see all updates early.

***Tuesday Track Update***

This weeks Tuesday Track Layouts are Spooky Hallow and Futuretown: The Coaster. And now for the layouts!!!

Spooky Hallow-

First you go up a nice long lift hill. After the lift hill, you go down a steep fall. At the bottom of the fall, you u-turn, and go up and down a little bit. Then you curve around again and have some more little hills. Then you go through a short NON-underground tunnel. Then you u-curve again and go into another one of the tunnels. Then you go up another lift hill. After the lift hill, you speed down a steep drop, u-curve again, fall down the short drop, u-curve again, go into a little tunnel with a water splash in it, u-curve one final time, and end in the station.

SNEAK PREVIEW!!!
There is a sneak preview of Spooky Hallow. It is not very well themed, and about halfway through the coaster you run into a wall, but you run right through it. Be warned… this WAS made in thee demo, because I don’t have RCT 3 yet. That is why it is called a Sneak Preview. The video is a little less than 10MB.

Futuretown: The Coaster-

First you start up the lift hill ready getting ready for the future. When you reach the top, you plunge down into the future. You u-turn, go into half of a in-line barrel twist, which turns you upside down, and half loop back right side up. Then you curve down to about 5 ft. Then you helix up to about 45ft. Then you curve back down again. Then you start up a lift hill again. At the top of the lift hill you plunge back to present day. Then you finish in the station.

What is that even supposed to mean? Also, don't post in all caps... it makes us think you are yelling. One last thing, if you don't think it will prove its name, don't download it in the Spring. If there is a tie, I will decide by using whichever coaster I rated higher. If I rated both the same, I will decide on the excitement rating, intensity rating, and nausea rating. Hey, I'm new to these forums; had RCT3 for a couple weeks. I've decided to enter my coaster ,The Wraith, in the contest. I'll post 2 or 3 more coasters later tonight if I can put together collages for them.

anyway, here it is... pretty good ratings for a hyper coaster. 7.08 excitement rating, 5.80 for intensity, and about 4.00 for nausea.

It mide be too late, but I'd like to make a few corrections. Ghost Ride and The Patriot are the same ride, just two different paint schemes, and the correct numbers are 7.69/8.68/5.03

I had another ride I was going to enter that was a lot better but I never got around to posting it. Well poo. Oh well. I hope it's not too late, cause I think knowing this, with proper numbers, it might affect the correct discision. I'm sorry I didn't get some more close action screenshots posted, but belive me, it's still a good floorless coaster.

Just a quick question: Where you able to add scenery to the coaster? Like "The Big One?" Becuase scenery boosts the excitement level up quite a bit...heh, with scenery my coaster would be pushing a high 9 in excitement...

The Final Frontier
First you start up the lift hill, counting down for takeoff. When it is time to launch, you plunge down steeply. Then, you get sucked into a wormhole and start spinning around and around and around. Then, the spinning stops. You shoot up in the air, and then back down. You helix back up, and then twist and turn a bit. You are in for a bumpy ride. Then, you go up a bit and start helixing back down. You come back to where you started. Home. You reach planet Earth again. You are safe.

And some other things I wish to say:
-Just because I say a coaster is going to be one way in a layout, doesn’t mean it will be exactly the same. I will stick to the plan the best that I can, but stats cause wonders
-I will try to get Tuesday Track Updates out on time. If I get it out a day late, I will have a good reason, such as being too busy
-And lastly, this is the first update sent to the winner, which is Phantom, by RCT3 Junky. Yes, I said who won, so now it is ok to post about the winner. I feel if you really wanted to know by now, you would have. Thanks for all your support and be sure to check out next week’s Tuesday Track Update- the last Tuesday Track Update, which will be A Series of Unfortunate Events, and only this coaster due to changing Spongebob Speedway from a Junior Coaster to Go-Karts. ***The LAST Tuesday Track Update***
Hello and welcome to the last Tuesday Track Layout. This Tuesday Track Layout includes A Series of Unfortunate Events. It will not include Spongebob Speedway due to recent changes in what type of ride it will be- it was going to be a Junior Coaster until I changed it to being a Go-Kart track. And now for the layout.

A Series of Unfortunate Events
First, you go through a little town, going toward Count Olaf’s house. Then, you go in the front door and start going up, and up, and up. Then, you leave the house, into the open air. His house is behind you. But, unfortunately, your series of unfortunate events has only begun. You curve to the right, and start going down. You curve to the left. Then it gets steeper and steeper. You reach the ground. You go into a loop. Then a corkscrew/ half loop combination. Then you helix down (or up, I’m not sure). Suddenly, you go into an over-banked turn (that is what I think it is called). You come back down to the ground. Then you corkscrew again. You loop again. Then, you go up, and come back down. You curve a bit, and your back at the station.

Some themeing ideas:
-The Station is Mulctuary Money Management
-You exit the lift hill through the tower in Count Olaf’s house
-I need some ideas for some theming of this coaster!!! If you have ANY ideas, please post them. But please, make sure the idea is from the book Series, A Series of Unfortunate Events. It IS NOT just a clever name!!!


Also, construction should be starting this time next week. Be aware, I said SHOULD be starting, not WILL be starting! Be sure to be here for the FIRST screenshot (more info when it will be released later)!!!

judging by the preview for the movie, use the halloween themed castle thing, that sounds nice, and maybe some crazy garden crap

the movie comes out this friday, and i work at a theater, so i think ill check that out and maybe get soem more feedback, its better for me to see it than read it ;)

judging by the preview for the movie, use the halloween themed castle thing, that sounds nice, and maybe some crazy garden crap

the movie comes out this friday, and i work at a theater, so i think ill check that out and maybe get soem more feedback, its better for me to see it than read it ;)

Great job on the entrance. Here's my comments.

You should consider splitting up the peep injection point into three separate paths. I have found out that peeps will only enter through one of the gates (usually the one in the middle), instead of splitting up and entering through a gate of their choice. So, I'm redesigning the paths at my entrance so the peeps will use all three entrances I made, and I suggest you do the same, otherwise, you've got that beautiful entrance, and it's not being utilized to it's fullest potential.

Also, to import coasters, go to the rides menu, and under the "Other rides" button, you'll see a button that looks like the file options button. Click it. A screen'll pop up. Click on the glasses you see. It'll tell the program to search your HD for all TD4 and TD6 files (track files for RCT 1 and 2 respectively). Then you simply click on a name of a ride you want to import, and viola, you pick where you want to build it. A word of caution however. The "physics" of RCT 3 are more realistic than they were in RCT 1 & 2. I've noticed a lot of imported rides will have to be slightly redesigned, so that they'll work properly in the physics of RCT 3, otherwise, you'll have the trains getting stuck in the middle of the tracks. It's best to build the imported, then put them into test mode, and then open up the construction menu. You'll notice the "ghost train" start running. Follow it. If you see is slow down noticeably anywhere along the track, make sure to memorize that spot. Chances are, after that point, the train'll be too slow to finish the track. At the spot where it slowed down the most, you'll need to redesign that section of the track, to make it so the train'll push through back to the station. If you don't have enough room for maneuverability, my suggestion is to put in a block brake, and set it's speed a little higher than the speed the train is travelling at when it gets to that point, that way, the block brake'll act as a booster, speeding the train up, and allowing it to finish the course properly. It'll increase the excitement and intensity of the ride, so it's well worth it. Otherwise, just build the coaster from scratch, making whatever adjustments you can to keep the train from getting stuck.

I've been working on Six Flags Grand Canyon alot lately... Thrill Seekers is about 85% done now (I'm going to update the first post in a sec). All rides are in place in Thrill Seekers, and the SCREAM Hotel has been built. I'm going to post screenshots of the section sometime tomorrow.

Construction has really started and is going strong on Six Flags Grand Canyon! Thrill Seekers is FINISHED except for the monorail, which will go into SFGC at the end. Next section that will start being constructed is Splash Mountain! Well...its called Spalsh Mountain but the terrain is flat...... You SHOULD have built a mountain with all the water rides on top of it....Also, I saw lots of snake lamps, which means at night spash mountain is probably VERY orange hehe. The water rides look pretty fun but pretty plain.

I'm not sure what it is, but every time I try and load SFGC, the game crashes as soon as it gets to "Initializing Park...". The file may be coruppted, but I can't be sure. That is why I am going to let you all test it right now. I'm not sure which file to upload, so can somebody please tell me which and how to zip a file, I will be able to get it up very quickly!

EDIT: I've decided I'm going to start over because I have noticed alot of things that I don't really like about it, so I'm restarting!

Ok... I have already restarted, and there is no turning back. The hotel is being built, and so far all the park has is 2 bus stations, a little gift shop, the entrance gates, and some of the walls to the hotel. I'm going to be working on Sultan's Great Escape video tomorrow, and possibally Thrill Seekers...

You know, the game creates a back up file of all the dat files you create (parks, rides, scenery, etc). If you have a crashing issue when it gets to Initializing Park or Post Activate Research, or something like that, all you have to do is delete the parks original dat file, and then remove the .bak extension from the *.dat.bak extension, and viola, you can reload your park from the last time the game made a back up of your park.

After restarting on the park, I finally have some nice new pocs for you of Six Flags Grand Canyon. I have is the hotel, which is not complete. I also have most of Thrill Seekers almost done, all it needs is to be themed... also I need to make the Blueway Monorail station. Just so you know, I am going to build the monorail as I go, so as I work on each section, the monorail will grow! This update would've included a SCREAM coaster cam video, but Tycoon3D isn't working right now, so I'll be sure to get the video up as soon as possible (once Tycoon3D is back up!).
