dragonball z for Gameboy

My son has the Dragonball Z Supersonic Warriors Gameboy game and in the game there is something called the "Z Combo". He is getting very frustrated that he cannot do this move. As he threw out the small manual that came with the game, I cannot simply read about it and help him.

Please help me understand how to do this move.
